How to get on the wait list for first seating dining?
Last month we booked our first cruise on the Magic sailing January 28, 2012. We didn't go through a travel agent, just booked on the disney site. Second seating was the only option for dining. I am worried that this will be too late for our 4-year old. How do I get on the wait list for first seating and what are my chances of getting this changed? Thanks to everyone who posts on here, lots of helpful information!

Call DCL and ask to be put on the wait list for main dining. If you don't get main dining by the time you check in at port, go to the location for Palo/main dining room changes after boarding.

1) feed your 4 year old when she's hungry (room service or up on deck 9), then send her to the Oceaneer's Club while you eat your dinner at second seating. Since my kid loved the club once she was old enough to go, this is our current preference.
2) eat at Topsider's when you're hungry (they serve sit-down dinner off the dining room menu at dinner time), skip your regular assigned dinner time. Can't do this the first or last night, but it works great for all the other nights. We did this when our daughter was 15 months and thought it was even better than eating at our assigned dining room.
I hope you get the seating you prefer, or at least that these help if you don't.
