I just used a calculator and all ears pricing. New ticket pricing. Are you using the old ticket pricing?

Of course you can. The tickets aren't connected. IF you have a package, then and only then do you all have to have the same ticket. Once you check in, you can change each of them any way you want individually.

Yes, that is the advantage, especially if you are all booked under the dining plan.

Many people will buy tickets for just a few days, and then everyone upgrades them to what they want.

You cannot upgrade them until first use.

See the sticky at the top of the board regarding tickets if you need any additional help.

You CAN, you just don't want to.

If you bought tickets before a price increase, from a discount broker, or both, you won't get full gate value for the ticket when upgrading. You will only get credit for what DISNEY sold the ticket for--less than what you paid if you purchased from a discount ticket broker. You'd already be operating at a loss.

By using the ticket first, the value is bridged to current gate value--giving you a "discount" on the upgraded ticket.

If you purchased directly from Disney and there hasn't been any price increases, you won't gain or lose from upgrading before using the ticket. But, you are possibly starting a bad habit. It's just better safe than sorry.

I'm using Cheshire Figment's sticky.

Since PH doesn't really matter because its a constant, I took the price of a two day 168 minus the price of a one day 85 = $83.

OK I figured it out, you have the wrong price for a one day PH.

1 day 85 + PH 55 = $140 + tax not your $127.80 with tax included.

ETA: All Ears screwed up their math I let them know.

I blame that on All Ears!

In their haste to get it up, they must have made an error. Usually, I look that up on my own, but I was being lazy. I still blame it on them, though. It did seem awfully high to me when I first calculate, so I went back and redid it coming up with the same number, so I left it.

OK, still incorrect. I'm doing the correct math now. Park hopping is NOT a constant with a one day ticket because it is only $35 for park hopping on a one day ticket. You have to pay the extra $$ to go up to a two - ten day PH ticket.

I stand by my original post.

One-day PH ticket at the new pricing is $120 + tax.
Two-Day PH ticket at the new pricing is $223 + tax.

That is straight from Disney's website. 223 - 120 = $103 + tax.

Since those are numbers straight from Disney's website, All Ears must not have any errors. Their numbers aren't much different, and they add in the tax.

Did this change with the new pricing?

OK I just checked the sticky and it looks like it did.

Why didn't anyone tell me.

I thought it would have been a big new thread.

It was covered in the big ticket changing price thread. It was a shock. Actually more eyebrow raising with a "hmmmm"

Everyone is going to have be on the look out for bad info now.

The standard reply to the "How much does it cost to add PH to just one day?" is

Quote:
Its $55 (or whatever the price was at the time) no matter the length of the ticket.

Okay, here's a random question....if I buy a PH ticket, can I add an extra day without the PH, or is it basically just upgrading the type of ticket i purchased?

For a two or more day ticket the PH is the same price no matter the length of ticket so if you already have the PH option its only the cost of the extra day.

Also if you have a non PH ticket you can't add a PH only day it all or nothing.
