Just found your trip report - I also plan vacations a year in advance and have to have the house clean before we leave! Can't wait to hear about your trip. We are sailing Aug. 9 and also staying at the Pacific Rim precruise.

We're back to reality!
We made it back home safe and sound! Our trip was fabulous! I don't have time to write my whole trip report, but I can give a few highlights for now. First of all, for anyone that is staying at the Pacific Rim, you are in for a real treat!
Also, if you are flying in a day early, I can give you the number of a limo driver that will give tours of Vancouver for $75 per hour, and he was one of the highlights of our trip! He was a local, and can give the history of everything and suggest things for you to see while he is taking you around Vancouver. We had him for two hours and were able to go to Grouse Mountain and do the tram, visit Prospect Point, visit the fish hatchery, see Stanley Park, as well as many other things around Vancouver. The homes there are simply amazing and neat to see as well. I'll include more when I actually write my report, but we had five people, a stretch limo to ourselves, and spent $150 to see the city. Well worth it! Another highlight of our trip was the floatplane tour we took with Island Wings in Ketchikan. We booked this on our own, and I cannot say enough good things about this company! Michelle, the pilot, is absolutely wonderful! I HIGHLY recommend this tour! It's not one you can book thru Disney, but you can feel completely safe booking on your own. It's super close to the ship, and we did the two hour tour and began at 5:00. The ship left port at 8:00, and we had plenty of time to make it back without stressing. In fact, we even caught the 7:15 show that was in the Walt Disney Theater that night. This excursion was well worth the money! ![]() I have lots to tell all of you, but I'm going to break my report into days, so I don't want to ruin it all and keep you from continuing to read, but I just can't keep this highlight in: WE WON BINGO TWICE!!!!!! And, we never win anything! In fact, we have cruised DCL seven times and only played once before, so we were shocked when we won. Needless to say, we'll be playing bingo on future cruises.![]() Lots of information to share with everyone, but feel free to ask if you have specific questions. I kept a journal so I wouldn't forget anything (it's the OCD coming out again!). I also have all of the navigators and the list of movies that were playing while we cruised. I'd be happy to answer questions and will hopefully get started on my report soon. Til then, if you're cruising to Alaska, be prepared to be taken aback by the beauty. We've traveled a lot, and I considered the beauty of Alaska to be at the top of my list now and even topping Hawaii. It's just gorgeous there and is a totally different kind of cruise. ![]() Susan

The last navigators I saw had semi formal on the last night, with the until we meet again dinner and the Captain's Gala dinner was Ketchikan night. I don't understand why they wouldn't switch the menu too

List of Movies from our Cruise
Here is what was playing during our cruise:
Toy Story 3 Mars Needs Moms Gnomeo and Juliet Brother Bear Tron-Legacy Tangled Beauty and the Beast DisneyNature: African Cats The Lion King Toy Story 2 Prom Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (in 2 and 3D) The Little Mermaid Aladdin I Am Number Four Pirates played in the Walt Disney Theater on one night, so instead of seeing a Disney show at show time, we watched Pirates. Hope this helps. Susan

Formal and Semi Formal Nights
Formal night on our cruise was on Wednesday, a day at sea. Semi formal night was on Sunday, the day we were in Ketchikan. The only down side to having it while at Ketchikan is that you don't actually get to port in Ketchikan until about 1:30, and the ship leaves port at 8:00, so you don't have much time there. They only show one show that night instead of having a 6:15 show and an 8:30 show. The show on that night is at 7:15. Still, they don't give you a lot of time to spend in Ketchikan. That was the day we did our float plane excursion. We made it back just in time to attend the show (a juggling comedian) but had no choice but to go to dinner dressed in our regular clothes that we had worn for our excursion. Well, I skipped out of the show a bit early, but you'll find out why when I write my trip report.
I had a little issue on the mountain when we did our excursion. Trust me, if it can happen, it happens to me. I'm just sayin....![]() Susan
