Cool CSR Bus System and Resort Hopping

Hey All -- Looking for some Coronado Vets here...We booked CSR for 9/28 - 10/5. How is the bus system? Last time we were there we stayed at CBR and rarely waited for a bus. Also, how hectic will it be trying to resort hop? We will need to get to GF, Poly, Contemp, WL, AKL, and Boardwalk during our stay...Any attack plans on how to get to and fro resort to resort? Thanks!

CSR to GF, Polynesian or Contemporary: Take the bus from CSR to the Magic Kingdom. Fastest way to GF is by boat. Fastest way to Contemporary is to walk from the bus stops. Not sure about Polynesian, boat or monorail will work. You could board the resort monorail to all three resorts but in some cases that will not be the fastest way to go.

Wilderness Lodge: Take the bus from CSR to the Magic Kingdom. From there you can take a direct bus from MK to WL, or you can board a boat that will take you there.

AKL: Take the bus to Animal Kingdom or to Blizzard Beach. Change to the AKL bus.

Boardwalk: Take the bus to Hollywood Studios. From there you can walk to Boardwalk or board a boat.

The above only works if the park buses are running. If all the parks are closed, the only transfer point available is Downtown Disney, which is a long route.

We stayed at CSR last Dec and were very happy with the bus system. We were in the Cabanas, so we were last on and last off, but we never had a problem getting seats. We also did some resort hopping to see the Christmas decorations. I'd suggest grouping your monorail resorts together, or at least doing them on a day when you go to MK or Epcot. Visit WL on a MK day - take a bus or ferry. Visit BW on a day when you go to Epcot or DHS (take the ferry). And visit AK any day - just take a bus from the park of your choice to AK. Maybe this is common sense? But we combined our resort hopping with our park trips so that it didn't seem like such a hassle to go from CSR directly to another resort. And of course, you can take a bus from any park (or DTD) to any resort at your leisure. Enjoy your trip!

When resort hopping, if time is ever an issue, consider taking a taxi. Taking a bus to one location and then transferring can eat up a lot of time. Figure at least 45 mins to be safe - an hour can happen if buses are full or running late.

Taking a cab cost some money but you can be anywhere on property in 15 mins. Bell services at any resort can call one for you. They arrive in minutes and are stress free.

Buses at CSR are the same as the buses at all the resorts that make multiple stops. You're going down when it's not too busy so you should be OK.

I have now stayed at CSR the last two Presidents Weeks! CSR has excellent bus service. We rarely waited very long for a bus and the busses were not very crowded. We never had to stand, for example.

I love CSR! I think you'll enjoy it.

We've had two great stays at CSR and have found the bus system very good.

TDC Nala's post pretty much sums up what we have done to get from CSR to the other resorts. Just give yourself enough time to get from one to the other. We were never in a big hurry so it was nice to just sit back and let someone else do the driving.

We stayed at Coronado Springs last week. The bus service was great! We didn't wait long for anything all week. As for resort to resort...leave at least 45 minutes.
