Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

Hey there Disers! to my second TR. This was one of my most memorable trips to Disney that I will forever be grateful to my parents for. To give you a little background on this trip, it all started after I got back from my 3rd trip to the World last June with my best friend. Once I got back, I couldn't stop talking about Disney. I had mentioned a birthday trip to my parents, and after about 4 months of begging, they finally gave in

Now this was a pretty amazing feat to have convinced my parents to take me to Disney again. The thing is, they don't like Disney. Now my mom does enjoy it somewhat...but my Dad just always thought there was too much to do, it was too stressful for him therefore he hated it.

But after I showed them all the perks of staying on site and the new things we had never done, they were in! I actually had tears in my eyes the night we printed out the hotel confirmation

So it was official we'd be staying at All Star Movies March 27-April 2. And we'd be there on my actual birthday, March 30th!

Now for the cast of travelers:



Myself, Clarice- only child, Disney freak of the family, thrill ride junkie. I plan to major in business management at CNU, then go on to manage one of the parks at the World

Favorite characters: Mulan, Aurora, and Mickey of course!
(I'm one of those people who has Mickey everything...)
Favorite park: tie between MK and DHS
Favorite rides: Rock N Roller Coaster, TOT, EE, TT, and all 3 Mountains



Mom- My best friend, I don't know what I'd do without her. She's crazy sometimes, just like me. She enjoys playing her guitar, drinking wine, and snuggling with our dog Maisy

Favorite Characters: Thumper, Chip & Dale
Favorite Park: Epcot
Favorite Rides: RNRC, EE, TT, Soarin



Dad- My Dad is an odd guy at times but I still love him You'll see some pretty funny pics of him in this TR. He enjoys old Volkswagens, riding his motorcycle, and drinking wine.

Favorite Character: Grumpy (they're very alike)
Favorite Park: DHS
Favorite Rides: RNRC, TT, EE, BTMRR



For those of you wondering about the title of this TR, it's kind of a long story so I'll try to simplify it.

Have you ever heard the saying "Let's kick this pig!" ?? Well I first heard it from one of my friends years ago. Basically it means lets get this done/lets do this/etc. I started saying this around the house before the trip for some odd reason and my parents picked it up because they thought it was so funny.

Well as we were leaving for the airport my Dad decided to kick it up a notch and said "Let's roast this pig!!" My mom and I burst out laughing and every morning before we left for the parks we would say "Let's roast this pig!" It's silly I know, but I knew it would have to be the title of my TR.

That's all for now. I took almost 700 pictures so this TR will be around for awhile

Happy Belated Birthday. It was very sweet of your parents to take you back to celebrate. My daughter is 6, but I really hope when she is 18 she wants to go to Disney with DH and I. I am trying to turn her into a Disney lover since DH will have a harder time saying no to her, but it hasn't worked yet.

I'm in birthday trips are sooooo much fun! I went to Disney for my thirteenth birthday and had a blast! One of my friends and her family joined us for a couple of days which was insanely fun! We now have a couple of inside jokes from that trip. can't wait to hear about your trip

Hello! Congrats on being first, and thank you! It definitely was very generous of my parents to take me. Aw I hope you can turn her into a Disney lover soon! That seems like a good strategy though to get to go back to Disney more often I know once I have kids someday I'll start working on making them Disney lovers too.

Hi! thanks for joining Birthday trips really are great, now that I've spent one there I may have to go back every year now! I actually just found your TR today but forgot to join in officially. I tend to be a lurker on trip reports but I'm trying to break that habit

thank you! I love Tangled, it's such a great movie. When it came out I saw it about 5 times!

ok, last post for the day, I know i have been overloading the page with comments. so i just read you TR from your last trip and I liked hearing your prespective on it since you hadn't been to the world in a while. I also like hearing about HARRY POTTER LAND!!!! One very important thing about me is that I am a big harry potter nerd. I have read all the books numerous times and seen all the movies numerous times. So naturally when I found out that they were going to have a theme park with a harry potter theme obviously I had to go. my neighbor and her family went on the opening day and couldn't get in. I went about 6 months after the opening and it was crowded but not uber crowded like it was within the first few weeks. I loved everything about the WWOHP, I felt soooo happy after getting to experience it. Now my mom and I feel a need to go to WWOHP everytime we are in Disney now. I also liked hearing your Shang story. I totally understand that love for a character. Hope you get to meet him this trip.

haha don't worry about overloading my page with comments. the more the merrier! Usually no one comments on my tr's and ptr's so this is great to already have people interested in the first day Yeah Harry Potter World was insane when we went. I'm still surprised we got to do everything we wanted to before noon! I'm glad you got to go when it was a little less crowded though, I'm sure you probably got to see much more than we did.

I used to be a Harry Potter nerd too (I was in the HP club in elementary school! lol) I read all the books but haven't seen all the movies yet. It just got way too confusing for me

Haha my Shang story is pretty crazy huh? It's funny how obsessed I am over an animated man.

March 27, 2011

When I woke up at 6:30 on March 27th I could not believe the day had finally arrived! I still had a little bit of packing to do so I finished that up first. I was worried I would forget something since I always seem to do that no matter where I go.

The night before I stayed up till around 12 straightening my hair (god knows why as it was just ruined the next day) and painting my nails to be Minnie inspired! I thought they turned out pretty well if I do say so myself. A couple of cast members even commented on them during the week



I quickly ate a banana for breakfast and after we were all done packing, we were ready to head out the door.

As soon as we stepped outside our house, guess what we saw.....snow!!! It was only some flurries but it was pretty freaky (yet amazingly awesome) driving to the airport in the snow knowing in a few hours we'd be in the sunny 90 degree weather!

On the way to the airport we stopped by McDonalds so my parents could get some breakfast too. I got a fruit smoothie as well, I took a picture of it so I could start getting used to the feeling of taking pictures of my food for the TR(On my first TR I didn’t do any food porn). This definitely felt weird….lol



We then got to the Crystal City Marriott where we would be parking our car. My Dad got a great deal to park it there for the week, sheltered, for only about $60! We got on the shuttle at the Marriott and we were soon at the Ronald Reagan National Airport.

This was my first time at this airport, so I took some pictures. I thought it was really pretty.





After we checked our bags and luckily avoided the body scanners at security, we went to our gate and hung out since we had about an hour and a half to kill. We got something to take on the plane for lunch and then played around with Mickey while we were waiting.



hmm no idea what was happening here…my parents are crazy.



Pretty soon it was time to board the plane and I couldn’t have been more excited! I love flying, and when it’s flying to Disney, I love it even more

Up Next: the exciting (not really) plane ride and arriving in Orlando!

Love your update Liked the fact you were practicing taking food porn pictures I had been doing that for years before i found out the disney term for taking pictures of your food is food porn. I am kind of a Disney Foodie and love taking pictures of my food. That is another thing I do that my parents find weird. We just went on a trip to visit my grandmother in Destin and I took food pictures there and my family just was like "Um okay?" It was sooooo funny. I guess it is a DIS-er thing right?

haha that is funny! and yeah it's totally a DISer thing It took some getting used to for me, and it kind of annoyed my parents the first few days till they finally accepted the fact they'd have to wait a few seconds to eat.
