Need positive vibes and prayers
My dad is currently in the OR awaiting his new heart. Some family decided to give the greatest gift to our family. We, of course, will probably never know who that was, but I will thank them for the rest of my life. Please keep them in your thoughts. Please also keep my dad in your thoughts that the heart is a really good match and the surgery goes smoothly.

 Prayers for your dad.Our friends dd who is 20 got her new heart in May 09 and she is doing well now. Wishing your dad all the best and how wonderful he has been blessed with the gift of new life. |

Just got the call. The new heart is in and beating well. They aren't taking out his LVAD yet, but they will soon. The heart is beating just fine without it.
 Thank you sooo much for all the thoughts and prayers!!

Thank you soo much. He is awake. They went back in yesterday and completely removed the LVAD and closed his chest. He was still inubated, but was writing things down on a notepad. Things are going great. He will probably be in the hospital for around 3 or so weeks. Then he will have weekly biopsies of his heart to check for rejection. After awhile, that will turn into monthly biopsies. He still has a long way to go recovery wise, but so far, so good
