So...I just read all your installments in one sitting. I think that speaks volumes about how much I LOVE your TR! It's especially amazing because I have three kids (I've already administered the epidural, so would you like one as well?) and had to swat them away to read it!
You crack me up. And you give me a Disney fix. So that's pretty darn close to perfection.

Hi guys. I am sorry I haven't been on here but we suffered a great loss this weekend. Our 13 year old Chow Chow, Pooh Bear, passed away on Saturday. We had to make the decision to let her go and it was the most horrible moment of my life. She was more than just our dog, she was such a gigantic part of our lives and now there is just this empty hole there. I am still in shock over this. I can't believe she isn't here and I have to go a lifetime without seeing her again. You may remember me writing about how healthy she was in my PTR last year. here and here. This was all very sudden and and we are beyond devastated. I'm trying to move on and continue with normalcy, so hopefully I will have the next TR update up tomorrow (it is mostly pre-written anyway). I wrote a little thing on my tumblr blog at capriamoon.tumblr.com about Pooh Bear if you would like to go see it (there are pictures too).

I'm definitely not myself right now but my love of Disney is definitely something that is keeping me going right now so thanks for following along with my report and life, guys. I really appreciate all your awesome comments all the time. I'd do a TR even if no one read it, but I absolutely love having people along for the ride with me. you guys and hope everyone is doing well.

Oh, honey. I'm so, so sorry this happened. She was such a beautiful dog. We don't really know each other (obviously), but. I'm retro pickles on AIM if you want to talk, okay?

Internet hugs never seem to convey just as much as real life ones do, but *hugs* regardless. ♥ ♥ ♥

In case you don't already know, I love you.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE all of your Main St/Cinderella Castle pictures. It looks like a gorgeous day. I WANT TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW. IT'S NOT FAIR.

I always read all of the Walt quotes on the construction walls too! I love that they put them there. It's such a nice touch.

I love the Jungle Cruise. The stupid jokes make me laugh so hard. I will never stop laughing at the backside of water no matter how many times I ride it. Everyone else is just kind of like HA while I'm rolling on the floor of the boat laughing hysterically. Why don't more people find this stuff funny? AND OMG. The Jungle Cruise at night is downright creepy. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My little cousin was crying the whole time. I was not expecting it to be that scary.

That is so sweet that you booked the massage for your mom. I think we can all agree that you win the title of "Daughter of the Year". And just know that when I typed that in my head I sang it to the tune of THE AMAZING FLAWLESS POP PARTYING HIT "Aaron's Party"...DAUGHTER OF THE MONTH? NAH DAUGHTER OF THE YEAR!
Weird Al is just awesome. "I'm fat, I'm fat, I'M REALLY REALLY FAT!" hahahaha

And I love you too. OBV.

OK, now I am really excited for Jungle Cruise at night! I like creepy things, especially when I know I'm at Disney World so nothing will actually happen.

YOU DID NOT JUST BRING UP AARON CARTER. I...can not. COME GET IT! EVERYONE TOGETHER SING IT LOUD~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!! I wonder if he wonders like, what the eff happened to his career. I mean how can you go from THAT'S HOW I BEAT SHAQ to... nothing? The mysteries of life.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I fully endorse swatting away children of any age, including infants, in order to read my TR. It is the most important thing, after all.

Yeah, it is. It is still really hard and it happened 8 days ago, I don't know when this is going to subside but I hope it's soon because I almost started crying while petting my friend's cats last night. Thanks Yuki

Day 5, Part 2 In Which I Experience Tiny Fluffy Yellow Heaven

After I got off the phone with the Grand Floridian Spa, I knew I had some time before I had to go pick up my mom for her surprise spa treatment. I walked around Frontierland for awhile, headed for Splash Mountain and hoping the wait would be just as short as all the other rides were this early in the day.

I decided that I didn't feel like getting wet right then so instead I went next door to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, who's wait said 10 minutes, but it was a complete walkthrough. Listen, if you are the kind of traveler who likes to sleep in on vacation, reconsider it!

Usually, when I'm at the parks alone no one really says anything about it to me, but this time I had kind of a weird experience. You know how when you're boarding a ride at Disney you have to give the number of people in your party? I said "1", and the CM stopped and said, "You're all by yourself? " and I said "Yep, I'm the only one who wanted to get up early!" He replied, "So you came ALONE?"

..........

Uh, yeah, dude. I'm not wasting precious Disney time. Some people like to sleep in after they get drunk, be it on alcohol or in my case: food, but not me! It seemed like such an odd thing to him that I'd come alone. Sure, Disney is better when you have the experience to share with someone (I learned that all too well on my solo trip aka The Solo Mess), but it is nice to have a few hours in the park alone here and there.

The CM said he felt bad for me and was going to ride with me. OH. Well, okay. I couldn't tell if he was flirting with me, because most CMs are so friendly in general that you never know. I really wasn't too keen on him riding with me, but hey this is Disney, and I was in a Disneyish, happy, everyone is a friend kind of mood, so why not? He was nice, and from New York, so we talked about that while he got in the train with me before saying, "Actually I would probably get fired if I rode with you. But enjoy the ride!"

So that was weird.

I enjoyed BTMRR more than I usually do, I think. It was just a good, happy morning. That's another ride where I notice something new every time. When you are speeding by, it's hard to catch everything and so something different pops out at me with each visit.

After that, I was walking around all smiley, just enjoying WDW.

Have any of you been on the Liberty Belle Riverboat lately? I have a vague recollection of going on during our first trip (we came for my 5th birthday), but haven't done it since. It's one of those things you kind of forget about while you're running to one of the mountains, but I think everyone knows how much I like to take it slow and just chill at the parks, so this is definitely something I have to do again soon.

Seeing the Mansion in the distance, I decided to go visit my dead friends next. That's just the kind of foolish mortal I am!

People who know about all the little WDW details will recognize the chess pieces and bat weathervane here Like I've said before, always look UP!

The rose bushes here are so beautiful and perfect for the atmosphere.

I remember during my 2008 trip, there was a HUGE real spiderweb intertwined in this fence and I tried so hard to get a picture of it, but it just didn't show up. It was like the spider knew this was the Haunted Mansion and was personally trying to add one of those Disney details!

Something I've never noticed before - the arms of the benches outside the Mansion are snakes! Great little touch.

I wish my balcony looked like this! I actually don't have a balcony, but if I did, I would require it to be ominous.

Another view of one of the chess pieces.

OK OK, remember like years ago when I wrote about our first MK day and how there was a red rose on Master Gracey's grave, and I had never seen that before and thought it was so cool? This time, it was laying there dead like this. I can't decide which is cooler, having a live rose on the grave or a dead rose. You could come up with lots of hidden meanings and stuff depending on how you look at it! Eerie.

When I posted about the rose originally, someone replied and said that they put a new rose out every day, but they definitely don't, because I know the rose wasn't there during my 2008 trip. I have pictures from the graveyard, and no rose at all. Hmmm.

I tried to get some good pictures on the ride this time, without using flash, of course. I thought I could lighten them later in photoshop, but nothing showed up.

During the ride, we got stuck for a long time. Well, it may have not been that long but when you're sitting in the dark, it seems long. I started taking some flash pictures. Sorry. The ride was already tainted from us sitting there doing nothing forever so I figured a few blinding flashes wouldn't hurt! (Actually, one time I was getting into one of the ride cars with a camera in hand and the CM standing there said "There are no cameras allowed in the Haunted Mansion!" but then followed it up with "That means there are also no hidden cameras that will catch you taking pictures" I was like LOL okay, like I was really expecting Disney Cops to come running out of a secret room where they spend their days watching for people taking pictures inside the Haunted Mansion and drag me off to Disney Jail.)

Of course, I couldn't get stuck in a cool area with tons to see, we were trapped in this boring transitiony area. I so badly want to get stuck in the graveyard, so much to look at! Or the ballroom dance scene...ooo, that would be amazing.

Yet another thing I've never noticed before - the face in the grate at the top of that door. I love the teeth! We were stuck for so long that at one point the music stopped, and so all we could hear was the knock - knock - knocking of that door knocker, and it was quite spooky! But I'm 20 and all, so I totally wasn't scared and totally didn't wish my mom was there.

Finally we got going again, and I somehow managed to make it out without becoming the 1,00th happy haunt! That was a close one.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST

I stopped to take a picture of Mr. Toad in the graveyard, which I hadn't found until this trip.

I still have yet to see the picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed over at Winnie The Pooh - I will make that a MUST do next trip!

At this point it was getting pretty late and so I decided I would head out.

I walked through Liberty Square and took a picture of the River of Filth... during the time period in which Liberty Square is based on, people used to dump their dirty water out on the streets and so a dirty river would just be draining down the street all the time. Being that you're on the DIS, reading a story about someone else's vacation, you probably already know this, just like the chess pieces thing, but I still like to include these little things just in case!

Someday my prince will come.

Dontcha just love Minnie? I've been on kind of a Minnie kick lately... especially with clothing and accessories!

I needed Main Street Popcorn before my journey over to the GF. Popcorn is one of my favorite foods, in fact, I have mastered how to make movie theatre popcorn at home, and many people say mine is in fact better, especially because it is made from natural ingredients. The popcorn you get at the movies has "Butter Flavored Topping", not butter... not even margarine. WHO KNOWS WHAT IT IS REALLY. But anyway, I digress. Main Street Popcorn is even better than my popcorn and way better than movie theatre popcorn with butter flavored topping. And I hadn't had any yet on this trip and it was day 5! The humanity!!!!!!!!

What's great about Disney is that even mistakes turn into magical moments. I stopped at the kiosk right before you exit the park. The CM handed me the popcorn and as I was reaching for our awesome, amazing free $500 gift card to pay for it, I put it down on the counter. A gust of wind suddenly came and knocked it RIGHT over!! I just stood there aghast, it was so sudden! I apologized and the CM said it was no problem and filled it right back up for me. At that moment the most adorable thing of my life happened. The CM looked down and said, "Oh my God! Do you see this?" I leaned over the counter to see behind the kiosk and there were A TON OF BABY DUCKLINGS THAT HAD RUN OVER TO EAT THE POPCORN OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

What cracked me up was the mama duck outside just chillin. It reminded me of a mom waiting for her kids to finish playing at the playground or something.

I just wanted to scoop all the ducklings up and give them hugs and kisses forever, but alas, I left them to their picturesque life at the Magic Kingdom and headed to the monorail.

Up next: SURPRISE MOM!!!!!! and my love affair with France.

When I die, I'm gonna be reincarnated as a Disney World duck. Well, I hope lol. Great pictures as usual. Makes me wish I could go back sooner, but alas it will have to wait till 2013/2014.....unless I decide to go to Hawaii instead......but there is a Hawaii building at the Poly! Mwahahahaha! Sorry, I'm tired.

I know what you mean about loving Minnie stuff. They've been coming out with some really cute Minnie apparel lately, and I find myself wanting basically everything.

I actually never knew that about the Liberty Square path! Now I feel awesome about myself because I learned something today (even though I haven't been studying for exams lately fuuuu).

EEE THE DUCKLINGS. Why can't I own a duckling omg :c

Well, that Big Thunder CM sounds...interesting. So he actually got into the train with you? And then, after realizing it could get him fired, got back out? So awkward. I was cringing reading about it. It sounds like he was blinded by your fabulousness. At least he didn't actually get fired. That would have made the story a whole lot more awkward. Can you imagine sitting there as his manager runs out and starts yelling at him for not following the rules? LOL.

AHH! I love the exterior (and the interior too, of course) of the Mansion. Those rose bushes make my life. But I've never noticed the snake benches before. So cool.

Ugh. I hate getting stuck on the Haunted Mansion. Like you, I've never gotten stuck in one of the cool places...always the weird transition hallways. Which are actually way creepier than the rest of the ride. My sister and I got stuck next to an emergency exit one time and it was terrifying! I was bracing myself for someone to come through the door and scare my pants off.

So this...
But I'm 20 and all, so I totally wasn't scared and totally didn't wish my mom was there.
I definitely agree with. If I was alone, I would have lost it.

I LOVE THE RIVER OF FILTH! I'm such a history nerd.

Minnie is the best. I love everything about her. My grandparents bought me a GIANT plush Minnie when I was little and I've loved her ever since.

OH MY GOSH. DUCKLINGS. OH MY GOSH. MAMA DUCK. I have a horrible fear of birds, but for whatever reason, whenever I see a duck family, I just want to cuddle them all. I love that the mom is just standing there, waiting for her babies to finish eating. Ducks are just so fascinating!

Oh, to be a WDW duckling! Except I wouldn't want my mama duck there watching, since I'd probably punch (flap?) my siblings and steal their popcorn.

I've never been stuck on HM, and I never want to be. I'm 27, and I am not ashamed to admit that all those wonderful details do give me the creeps. My 5yo would be in heaven, however! What kind of gives me the creeps more is that BTMR cast member..strange guy!

I know, right! They have the best lives!

That's what I love about Disney... you can visit so many places while really just staying in one place. The Poly may not be the full Hawaii experience, but it'll do until I get to go back. Same with World Showcase and so on.

Are you talking about the Minnie Muse stuff at Forever 21? Because I've bought basically all of it. It's all tooo cute! I've been living in it!

That's why I include those details, I figure there must be at least some people who haven't learned that yet. I know I learned about it from reading someone else's trip report here.

He didn't actually SIT in the train with me, he just kind of got into it and stayed standing and then was like, JUST KIDDING LOL. I was like...okay. I agree though, he was definitely blinded by my fabulousness!

I want a huge plush minnie!!

One of my good friends is really scared of birds too. When we're walking in NYC, if the pigeons are on her side, she'll move to the other side of me just naturally. I am the protector of people from birds I guess. LOL.

Btw, time has never felt longer than today waiting for TVD. 20 more minutes!

Aww, your 5yo sounds like my 6yo cousin! She is FEARLESS, i mean, she will do anything without a hint of hesitation. During the fall we took her to see some horses, and I looked away for A SECOND and she was in the process of crawling through the fence. So I stopped her and asked what she was doing and she was like "I'm going to go ride that horse." and she pointed to this gigantic stallion and I was like OH.

Thanks for reading, everyone!! New update soon!!

Day 5, Part 3 In Which Your Feet Are Getting The GRAND Treatment!!!!!

Whoo hooo! It's been less than a week since my last update and I am already updating again! I gotta speed this puppy up so I can finish before our next trip (which will hopefully be in April!)

When I left you, I was on my way out of the Magic Kingdom, filled with giggles over the cute duckies. I headed to the monorail so I could get to the Grand Floridian Spa and pay for my mom's spa treatment in advance.

The GF spa is in a separate building from the main GF where you get dropped off on the monorail, so you have to walk past the pool and around the place a bit. I really enjoyed walking around the GF. I've explored the inside a lot, but never really the grounds. I didn't take any pictures though, because I was kind of in a rush. I had to get to the spa, pay, walk back to the GF, take the monorail back to the MK, take the bus from the MK to CBR, tell my mom about her surprise, get on the bus back to the MK, get on the monorail back to the GF, and walk to the spa again! LOL!! This is why it's awesome to have a freakin' rent-a-car. I know could have just called my mom and told her to meet me, but I wanted to A.) See her reaction when I told her, and B.) Escort her there like a princess!

Of course the spa was gorgeous inside and I was wishing I had booked my own spa treatment! But you know what, I really was dying to get back over to Epcot so I didn't mind. I took the monorail back to MK, and the bus back to Caribbean Beach. WHEW. In line for the CBR bus, ANOTHER duck family came waddling right into the line with us! For some odd reason, I didn't take my camera out, but trust me - there were many other instances of this that I did catch on camera, so just wait and see!

I updated my twitter:
I'm going back to our resort right now to tell her SURPRISE!!!! Your aching feet are getting the GRAND Disney treatment today!!!!!! 11:41 AM Apr 15th via txt

When I finally got back to CBR, thankfully my mom was fully dressed and just finishing doing her hair. She thought we were going to Epcot. Haha, nope!!!

I told her what I had done and she just stood there with her mouth open. I told her everything was all set and paid for so all she had to do was go there and relax! She was so happy and ran over to hug me. She said she had barely been on her feet yet that day and they were already killing her and I couldn't have picked a better thing to do for her! She just kept hugging me and thanking me... it really is true it feels better to do good things for others than yourself. Especially people who you love SO much who take you to Disney! I was so happy!

On the way to the MK, I think she was bouncing she was so excited LOL. When we got there, instead of the monorail we took the boat over. It is just more relaxing and my mom had kept saying earlier in the trip how she really wanted to take the boat over so we finally got to. I honestly can't remember the last time we did that!

So funny how close in proximity the resorts are (here you see the Poly and the GF) and yet they both offer such different and unique experiences!

That's Narcoossee's, which I hear is great, but I'm not a huge seafood fan so we've never been. It would be sooo beautiful to sit on the water like that though!

I dropped her off at the GF Spa and she gave me like 10 hugs before I left. Her excitement was infectious and I couldn't wait to get over to Epcot for some solo time!

Before I left I snapped a pic of my favorite chairs ever:

I took the monorail to the TTC and then to Epcot. I think the ride from the TTC to Epcot is one of the best rides at Disney World, period. It's so much fun to ride around Epcot before actually touring the park. I have a video of the whole ride that I took on my camcorder that I can barely even watch cause it makes me so homesick for Disney!

By the time I got to Epcot, it was like 1:30 PM and all I'd eaten all day was that popcorn. You know, it's funny how much I obsess over Disney food and then when I'm there I get so distracted by all the wonderfulness around me I end up not even realizing it's time to eat.

We had an ADR for Les Chefs de France for later on in the trip. Neither of us had been there, but I was dying to try it because I have heard such good things here on the DIS. I had told my mom we were going because I was so excited, and she seemed less than enthused about it and seemed like she didn't wanna eat there too much. I understood, but was still kinda disappointed. I know French food isn't really her forte, but I thought she'd be excited about trying something new. Plus, this is Disney World, not actual France, obviously it's going to be a bit Americanized.

So I decided to head to France to check it out on my own. I didn't have an ADR but hoped they had an opening. I went up to the podium and asked if they had a table for one available. The woman at the podium snapped, "Of course miss!" and instantly turned around.

I love French people.

A lot of Americans think the French are rude but they're not, they're just direct. To the point. No BS. and I LOVE IT.

Onto my meal!

Sweet baby Jesus in Heaven was this food good. GREAT. GRAND! SCRUMPTIOUS! AMAZING! It was so good that I am most excited to return to Les Chefs above all other restaurants.

Even Le Cellier.

GASP. I know, I know. But it's that good. It really is. I can't believe this place isn't constantly filled to the gills with Le Cellier rejects because it is on par with the best.

I waited less than five minutes before I was escorted in by a very cute French guy. Another very cute French guy was my waiter. It's safe to say that there are MANY very cute French guys there, so even if you aren't into the food, go for the show.

The waiter and I talked about France a bit. I know more about it than the average American probably does because my friend Peter goes there all the time. When I ordered, I even tried to order in the language since I took a year of it. However, that was a long time ago and I have a feeling he was just being polite when he told me, in French, how good my French was. At least... I think he did. (:

He brought me a whole mini loaf of French bread and it was delicious! Here's a picture of a piece I cut off and you can see the cute placemat they put down also:

I decided to go with the Prix Fixe - 3 courses for $20 which is a GREAT value for the deliciousness bestowed upon you.

Here are the choices you get when on the Prix Fixe:

First Course-
Soupe a l' oignon gratinee - Onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese

OR

Bisque de Homard - lobster bisque $6.25

Second Course-
Croque monsieur et sa salade verte - classic French toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a green salad

OR

Quiche Lorraine - ham and cheese quiche

OR

Gratin de Macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese

Third Course-
Creme brulee - vanilla creme brulee and a madeleine

OR

Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

Just reading that is making my stomach growl like an angry lion!!

Before my food came, to my right, I saw the little Remy show going on! Oh it was so cute!!

I think I was enjoying it more than that child honestly. LOL. I thought it was so cool. As per usual at Disney, the 5 year old inside me came alive and I was like "REMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

For my first course, I got what us Americans call French Onion Soup.

This is one of my favorite things to eat. I get it almost everywhere. It's good pretty much everywhere. However, at Les Chefs...it was...exceptional. Trust me, the French Onion Soup you are used to is swill compared to this. I believe I gobbled it up in about five seconds. It was beyond the best I have ever had anywhere.

I posted on Twitter:
Eating french onion soup!! In FRANCE!!!!! 2:00 PM Apr 15th via txt

For my next course I picked the Gratin de Macaroni aka Macaroni and Cheese.

Oh boy.

This was so good that just looking at the picture of it makes me feel like crying. I AM TRYING TO BE STRONG HERE. Not only was it the best macaroni and cheese ever made, but it was one of my favorite meals ever. I can't even describe how perfect it was. The pasta was so fresh. So perfectly cooked. The cheese sauce was exactly the right consistency and flavor. I just.......can......not. I think if this dish cost $50 I would pay it. PLEASE DO NOT TELL DISNEY!!

After I finished that masterpiece (by the way, they give you the perfect amount to fill you up but not STUFF you to death), I took a some pics of the beautiful restaurant:

At some point during my meal, Beauty & the Beast walked by the restaurant, and I thought, "Well, that's something you don't see everyday in Jersey."

For my dessert, I chose the Profiteroles au chocolat.

Good God. Again, just amazing. This is basically like a cream puff cut in half with vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between, slathered in chocolate sauce and white chocolate shavings. Oh, it was the stuff of dreams.

Les Chefs de France gets 10 stars and 5 thumbs up from moi. You absolutely must try it! During the rest of our trip, I kept wanting to go back, so I think I might book this twice on our next trip!

Up Next: More World Showcasing, meeting up with mom, and evening at MGM
