Has anyone made the cookies from cake mix using pineapple cake mix? UPDATED

I have to bake cookies for my husbands staff meeting on Thurs...he chose a strawberry cake mix (going to roll that in powdered sugar) for cookies..and a pineapple one..he wants me to add crushed (and well drained pineapple)..anyone have an idea if this combination would work?..TIA!
Happy Holidays
UPDATED WITH RESULTS if anyone is interested

strawberry ones..used strawberry cake mix, chilled dough for 20 minutes..rolled in small balls using large end of melon baller, baked at 350 for 10 min on middle oven rack (didn't flatten, they did it themselve)

pineapple ones..were a little softer with the addition of the crushed pineapple, chilled 20 min. couldn't roll into balls, dropped by teaspoonful onto cookie sheets but still very good..same cooking time as above

chocolate..used triple fudge chocolate cake mix, added heath chips, chilled 20 min. didn't flatten
Got 4 dozen each out of 1 box of each cake mix!

They all came out delicious !!

drain the crushed pineapple VERY well..it will make the batter looser than the other types of 'add ins' do..if it's too loose, just add a tablespoon or 2 of flour to the batter and then chill it..he wants me to drizzle glaze made with 10X sugar over them tomorrow to add a little more sweetness..you could also add those craisins dried cherries they have now..that would be really good!

I wonder what would happen if you added dried pineapple instead of the crushed pineapple? There is a fruit cake cookie posted on the thread that uses spice cake dried fruit. I told people to soak them in water, or they can use their favorite alcohol , so they wouldn't be so dry.

Anyway, come post your results on the cookies from cake mix thread! Lots of people are subscribed to it, who might miss your thread, as they don't come to the Cooking Board often enough.

hehehe..... a google search for pineapple cake cookies brought me here! I just made strawberry cake with choc chip, plain choc, and choc cake with andes pieces.

I'm trying to decide what to do next. I have the following cake mixes:
butter yellow
Jiffy golden yellow
dark choc fudge (waiting on the rum to arrive)

I also have various flavors of jello and pudding, choc chips, sun-maid cranberries, coconut, and more andes.

Any ideas??????

Not Strawberry but Cherry Chip-gets rave reviews

Pink Cherry Chip Cookies
(I usually double this and the icing because everyone eats them up so fast!-the icing is what makes them so good)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1 box Betty Crocker Cherry Chip Cake Mix(I can usually find this cake mix at Reasor’s in Tulsa OK-hard to find around Valentines(plan ahead)
¼ cup butter or margarine(softened)
1teaspoon butter flavoring
½ teaspoon vanilla flavoring
Few drops red food coloring(for looks only)
8 oz. cream cheese(softened)
1 egg
½ cup chopped pecans

Cream butter and cream cheese with ½ of the dry cake mix. Add egg, vanilla and butter flavoring and red food coloring. Mix in remaining cake mix and nuts. Drop rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet or use a Silpat on your cookie sheet. Bake for about 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. (kind of watch them-these cookies are better if they are sort of soft-not crunchy) Let cool completely.

1 box powdered sugar
½ cup canned evaporated milk(more or less to get right consistency)
½ stick butter(softened)
Few drops red food coloring

Mix above ingredients together. Ice cookies when completely cooled. If stacking cookies, put wax paper between layers. Make sure icing has dried. If I’m in a hurry I stick the iced cookies in the freezer so the icing firms up fast.

Notes: I have used regular milk or whipping cream but canned milk is better in the icing. Also, I’ve used canned cherry vanilla icing but homemade is much better.
