Weve had the time of our lives! Day Zero
The Cast
Me - Louise - chief planner, chef, chaufeeur and loves everything Disney. DH- wayne- Belongs to teh dark side as his heart is in universal !! DS - Ben (12) - Trys hard not to look like he is enjoying himself but really is lapping it up !! DS- Cam (9) - Loves Stitch and is an adrenaline Junkie. DS- Dan (8) - Loves Pluto and Goofy and trys hard to do anything Cameron does !! Also the joker of the family. DD- Keira (4)- Idolises Buzz lightyear and is shaping up to be another adrenaline Junkie. Introduction If you are looking for a trip report full of surprises, tears and Tantrums you are in the right place ! However I do not do pictures of food - sorry all you food porn lovers I just dont get it !! The trip was from 22nd November - 15th December 2010 and we stayed in 2 off site villas , holiday Inn Universal maingate and also Saratoga springs. So hope you enjoying reading along as much as I enjoy writing it and sharing our trip with you. Louise x Today was the day we had counted down to for what seems like an age and somehow my get up and go had got up and gone. I lay in bed thinking we actually leave today and then thought oh just a few minutes more sleep will be good!! At midday I was still lying in bed and instead of the usual frantic running around triple checking everything I was chatting on face book and thinking maybe I should get moving so the drive to Manchester isn’t in the dark. So the decision was made to get our backsides out of bed shut down all pcs and get going. It normally takes hours to get my 4 kids moving and dressed and out but today they were moving mighty quick and within an hour we were sitting in the car ready to go – YAY!! Now here is where excitement kicked in for me what we didn’t have we would leave behind and no looking back that’s the start of the holiday! Now who left me in charge of programming the sat nav?? I could barely manage to think anything but Oh my god Oh my God Oh my god! The worrying thing is I was also the driver and my mind never wandered far from the Disney excitement the whole journey!! Now to say we took the scenic route is an understatement – we took the longest most winding way to Manchester possible – I have no idea what I did but its safe to say I defiantly pressed something wrong !! But it was ok we were on our way to the airport and that’s all that mattered. We arrived at the Travelodge just before 4pm (I did say we took the scenic route!!) I have to say for a cheap and cheerful hotel room I was pleasantly surprised and the staff was amazing!! Even managed to help out with Keiras dietary needs for our evening meal. ![]() Whilst waiting for the food it was obvious excitement kicked in for everyone as we all played a game of amazing shrinking bodies!! ![]() The meal was reasonably priced and actually really nice! After filling our little bellies Wayne took kids up to room whilst I asked for more bedding! The man on the desk laughed at me and said really you want 3 lots of extra bedding??? – Well yes what’s up with that? Well what id didn’t realise was I needed to take it up 2 floors myself! He loaded me up high and then behind mountains of bedding asked if I wanted the stairs or lift!! Well for some unknown reason – I blaming Disney brain again!! I declared id take the stairs!! He chuckled to himself as I managed to push me and my mound of pillows and duvets through the door!! I had several offers of help all of which I refused mainly because I thought if I let it go id never manage to arrange it all again so I could carry it! I eventually made it to the room and fell on the bed a mass of fluffy white padding much to the amusement of my darling children and husband. We watched the usual Saturday night TV and at 9 pm split into the 2 rooms for the night – surprisingly my room ( Me, Cam and Keira) was asleep by 9.30pm Wayne had Dan and Ben with him and he says sleep eluded them for much longer and then he found out that man they can snore!! I of course knew this when picking my 2 children for the night!! I mean if im losing Wayne A.K.A chief snorer im hardly likely to pick the kids who snore almost as loud now am I?? ![]() ![]() Day one Here Last edited by buzz for boys; 12-31-2010 at 06:15 AM.
