Hello Everyone -
First some general information . . . This is our family's first cruise ever to anywhere. There will be four of us: my wife and I along with DD (12) and DS (9). We set sail for our 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on 11/20/10. We had originally reserved a spot for the Dolphin Encounter on St. Thomas but we changed our minds after finding out there is only 30 minutes of time with the dolphins and around 5 hours of travel by foot, boat, and bus. (round trip) Now we want to find something else to do on St. Thomas. I was going to try the Sea Trek Helmet Dive at Coral World Ocean Park but the minimum age is 10 years old. ![]() Does anyone have another idea? For St. Maarten, we are going to do the Mountain Top Downhill Rainforest Trek. For Castaway Cay, we are going to do the Extreme Getaway Package. thanks for your help! |

We are on your cruise. Our kids are 8 and 5 and in St. Thomas we are doing the St. Johns snorkel...we actually are just going to sit on the beach because I hear its beautiful and we have already been to St. Thomas a few times.
We did the Sunny Liston tour in St. Thomas on our last cruise and that was fun (that was not booked through Disney though). St. Maarten we usually get a taxi to Little Divi beach and have a beach day but looks like you want a little more excitement than that. Castaway Cay is the best...so much to do and so much fun. Hope you have a great time!

We planned on going to St. John/Trunk Bay on our Eastern last Christmas but the excursion got canceled due to weather. Last minute, we changed to catamaran tour with turtles/snorkeling. It was fun but snorkeling not great. This year on our Christmas cruise, we plan on taking one of the many open air taxis at the dock to one of the local beaches (Sapphire Beach is said to have good snorkeling just off beach) and doing snorkeling there. Really debated about heading over to St. John as I hear it's beautiful and has great snorkeling but decided the travel time wouldn't leave all that much time to just relax and enjoy the beach. Many of the excursions sound great, not sure you can go wrong. I'm just trying to vary our excursions at each port... two of the ports we are renting cars so don't want to spend another traveling around... want to spend at least one day on a beach relaxing as I we didn't do too much of that last time.
