LOVE this thread! Finally made a reservation for this year (going in December) and I am so thankful for this thread. I have been a vegetarian for a very long time but this will be my first trip as a vegan. My only reservation so far is for dinner at The Wave one night, but I am definitely open to changes and obviously more suggestions! Thanks everyone!
P.S. Emily - I just bookmarked your blog!

Don't know what to do?
My vegetarian 13 yr old doesn't eat like most vegetarians. She doesn't eat tofu or any of the meat substitute products. Just noting vegetarian on our ADRs isn't going to help because she's extremely picky. She basiclally exists on milk products, pastas, and southern veggies like butter beans, lima beans, blackeyed peas, corn, etc. Nothing that I've seen on vegetarian menus. Any WDW dining advice?

Just tell her to talk to the chefs about it! I am vegan but eat a little differently as well - I rarely eat tofu, don't eat breads or pasta or white potatoes. I've had no problems getting the Disney chefs to prepare me something I can eat and they've often gone out of their way to make me something really spectacular.

Have any vegans eaten breakfast at Roaring Forks in the Wilderness Lodge? My husband and I will be there in October and I have 3 breakfasts planned using our QS credits. I looked at the menu on allears and see nothing I can eat. They have pancakes, I wonder if they can make a vegan version of pancakes or waffles? Also, does anyone know if their breakfast potatoes are vegan?
Thanks for the help!!! This thread has been wonderful!!!

I was never able to get transferred to an actual restaurant through the Disney dining line, but for those who are asking about eating at restaurants in RESORTS, I have had much luck calling the resorts and getting transferred to the restaurants to speak to the chefs, I pretty much always get good results, and straight answers. I don't really bother with the paperwork anymore b/c it never seems to get to the right people
. Some people have had good results with it(the paperwork), but if I'm eating at a resort I usually call 72 hours ahead of time-enough time to know, not so long they forget.

Hello, friendly veggie people!
![]() Hubby and I are planning a January trip, and since it will be winter, I wonder if any of you know of any vegetarian soups at WDW? I always assume soup is made from chicken stock if I don't specifically know otherwise, but I do love me some soup in cold weather, so would be thrilled to find some vegetable broth based soups. I am fantasizing in particular about the Smokey Portabello Soup at Artist Point - anybody know if it is vegetarian or not? I'm assuming it has dairy, but still holding out hope it may not have a chicken broth base. Thanks for the great thread!

Boma always has several soups (three, I think) and usually at least one is vegan. Their vegan mushroom soup is the best I've ever eaten.

The smoky portobello soup is made with bacon.
![]() There are tomato bisques offered at both 1900 Park Faire and at Cape May buffets that are vegetarian (made from vegetable stock), but I do not know if they have dairy product. ETA: 1900 Park Faire also sometimes has cream of mushroom soup (with dairy certainly) that is made from vegetable stock too.

If I can just get waffles/potatoes or fruit for breakfast every morning, I'll be good! |

For Roaring forks: The waffles are Van's waffles. If you go in advance of your breakfast they can plan more for you.

Regarding LeCellier: I am not %100 vegan but I do not eat the following out:
Dairy, Gluten, Meat, Fish and Pork. Le Cellier gave me a great dish for lunch with Coconut milk.

One last post: Regarding Captain cooks. They can custom make you tofu and noodles and veggies. Just go up to the cashier/manager and ask them for the chef.
