Your invitations look so nice! I love the idea of "inviting" her to each event the morning-of; it will really give her something (else!) to look forward to.

Your gals tea reminds me of one of my favorite memories as a child. My mom, sister, and aunt went to tea at the Plaza in NYC. Granted, I was a bit older than your little one, but the experience of doing something so grown-up and girlie was priceless! It was really special getting to be with the most important women in my life. I think you all will love your tea, and it will create fabulous memories!! It also seems like it will be a wonderful respite from all the hustle and bustle of other Disney activity!

Whew, thanks for the wolfes dance orlando reminder, I love that video! I also enjoyed the wolfes dance christmas. The branson one was not as fun.
So far...2 trips to Disneyland, 12 trips to WDW!

Hoping to take a trip this year, but also contemplating buying DVC, which would involve skipping this year and using that money for the downpayment. We'll see where the year takes us.

I love the invitations! I know it is something that when Lillian gets older and looks back and figures out that it was you who did all of that for you she will be touched to have such a great mom who wanted her to have the most magical trip ever!

Also, I love that video you posted! Did you watch their other family videos? What an amazing family!!! The kids I babysit for made me watch the video 3 times in a row, but I didn't care.

In honor of DH’s birthday, today’s countdown item relates to birthdays!! We are also in the teens!!! It does not seem possible that our trip is coming up so fast.

19. Birthday Cake!!!!

With celebrating Lilian’s birthday being the reason that this trip came about, I thought today would be the perfect day to discuss cake plans since it is DH’s birthday!! We had a blast celebrating yesterday, which is why I am a day behind on my countdown.

First, here are pictures of DH’s cake from yesterday:

This was probably the best cake we have had since we moved here and I have tried multiple bakeries. The cake was a chocolate cake, which chocolate mousse filling and white buttercream frosting. Yummy!! It was so moist and delicious.

So that is DH’s cake let’s discuss Lilian’s cake. I spoke with the amazing Pat at the GF Bakery. I have requested a “brownie cake” as Lilian calls it—chocolate cake with chocolate filling—which is pretty much the same as DH’s birthday cake. I struggled with what to order flavor wise because there are a few traveling with us who do not really eat chocolate. Well, I decided it is Lilian’s cake so I ordered what she would like best. I settled on an eight inch cake. Lilian wants an Ariel cake and I asked for girly girl if possible. The only thing I said I did not want was a flat, edible image. Hopefully it will turn out as good as DH’s cake did.

Anyone have experience with custom cakes at Disney?
I know that people are really thrilled or unsatisfied.

Also, the morning of her birthday, I have a MP3 to play for her--Happy Birthday, Princess from the Disney Princess Tea Party. Click on the title to hear the song. I think it will be a great morning to start off dancing!!

**Sorry I am a day behind on the countdown. I hoped to get back on last night but I was not feeling so hot last night so I went to bed early.

That cake looks and sounds delicious!! I'm sure Lilian will love her cake. Karen had one made for Savannah b-day last year at Disney and it was beautiful- everyone loved it.

What a cute cake!!

I love that song. We actually bought the personalized CD awhile back (where all the songs say Ashlyn in it) and I've planned on playing it at her birthday party.

Great cake! I have no personal experience with Disney custom cakes, but I have browsed the cake thread. They have some great cakes on there. Hopefully you are one of the super satisfied customers!

Love your husband's cake.

I have ordered a custom cake from Pat before. I ordered one last year and it was really, really good. They do a great job at the GF Bakery.

I've ordered another one for this year too. I'm sure it will be awesome. Pat will help you create any type of cake that you want. I'm sure you will be pleased.

Have you looked at the cake chatter thread? There are a ton of pictures of various cakes on it.

Great Mickey birthday cake for hubby. And Lillian's birthday cake sounds perfect. I hope you are feeling better today (I was a little sick last night -- ate too much at dinner; or it was the huge slice of chocolate flourless cake I had for dessert ).

love the cake idea and your dh's cake looked so good. Happy bday to him!!!! I hope lillian is feeling better. I saw on your FB post about the ear infection. I think the song on the morning of her bday is an excellent idea and I think if I had a daughter listening to that on her bday while she is smiling ear to ear would have me in tears. I hope it goes just as you planned. That will be a special moment for her!

Got to LOVE Holiday Market!! As you know, I order all of our cakes from there! YUMMY! I hope Allyn had a great bday! Did he like his flip camera?

Love the invitations you made for Lilian! What a special touch! I was going to make an invitation for Emily to BBB. I made one last year for a DIS friends little girl and sent it to her before she went to Disney. She was so excited and I want to do the same for Emily! I would make the restaurant ones too, but we have been known to change ADR's last minute...like and hour before the meal. I might add the CRT dinner on the BBB invitation though, that ADR is a definite!

What a day! We ended up taking DD to the After Cares Doctor because her ear starting bothering her last night and today was so sensitive she could not lay her head down on that side—if she did, she would cry out. Well, she has a nasty ear infection so she is on a round of antibiotics. I am just glad it has happened now (if it had to happen at all ) because she will be in good shape for Disney and have the antibiotics finished by then (though not by much since she is on it for 10 days).

We tried on all of DD’s clothes we have gotten for the trip. We are all set for her clothes, other than washing them. She loves her tea party dress—she calls it her lady dress.

Onto the countdown….

18. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

I have really enjoyed reading other TRs since I first stumbled across DIS a year and half ago. I especially loved reading about the BBB experiences and have known since we started planning this trip (before I even started reading DIS) we would be taking DD to BBB for her birthday.

We went with the Crown package, which includes the hair, nails and makeup. We will let Lilian pick out a dress too as a birthday present. She has seen the new Ariel dress and has her eyes set on it:

I sure hope it is available!! If not, I am not sure who she will end up picking. Hopefully Disney has really tried to make less itchy dresses (the newer ones are suppose to have been made better to counteract this) because some of
them just drive poor Lilian’s skin crazy.

I cannot image a better way to kick offer her birthday at MK. Anyone have any good suggestions/recommendations for BBB? Who has done it in the past? Thoughts?

Of course no visit to BBB would not be complete without me singing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo in my mind the whole way there and during (I imagine) since I cannot help but hum it whenever I think of it. For your viewing pleasure tonight, here is the video of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!
