I was on the Wonder when we picked up Carnivals MOB.It didnt have anything to do with Carnival being unprepared.It had more to do with the way the Wonder came on to the scene, as we were closer.It was easier for us to pick him up then the Carnival.If Carnival had issues, it was more mechanical then incompetence/training. All ships, that depart US waters, must pass the same training standards from the US Coast Guard.They must also train a certain number of times of year, as part of the SOLAS regulations.[/QUOTE]

If I remember correctly some one on the Carnival ship mentioned that while they were watching them try and rescue the guy they couldn't get a lifeboat into the water. they said it got all tangled up in it's own ropes. And i only metioned it because they news people didn't only mention that disney rescued him but that carnival didn't rescue their own passenger.
