Downtown Disney Hotels view of New Years Eve fireworks ?

My family of five will be stopping back in Orlando after a post-Christmas cruise, December 31- January 2nd, and we are staying at the Doubletree in Downtown Disney area....I have been reading about how packed the area gets at this time...We are not planning on going to any of the parks, but do want to see the fireworks and have a decent dinner on New Years Eve.

Does Downtown Disney, which we can avoid driving our car to, have anything special for us to look into doing ? Can we make reservations anywhere for that night ?

Thanks

David

Pleasure Island used to celebrate New Year's Eve every night, so there's that. I suggest dinner at one of the MK resorts. You can walk over to DD and grab the resort's bus there.

Pleasure Island, as such, no longer exists. So ... no more "NYE every night." They don't really do New Year's Eve fireworks at DTD. You might get a glimpse of the high aerial fireworks from DTD, but you won't see a big show.
