FIRST OFF - More news on Snow and her Prince.
Rumored to be moving to Toon Town with Aurora, Philip, Cindy, and Charming. Updated MNSSHP 2010 Character list. Quote:

Definitely. Disney is cautious about people pretending to be their characters, but I wouldn't worry about it with those costumes. You can pose for photos (which may happen because Belle and her Beast do not appear at the party) as long as they know you're a fellow Guest; you cannot sign autographs. Looks like fun!!

Thanks Berlioz, the costumes aren't of a standard that would confuse people anyway. We just wanted something we could go as as a couple.
Our other choice was frog costumes as a nod to PATF but they could get a bit warm

That would be hilarious - especially if you get your picture with them!

This is probably the biggest thing we are anticipating for our trip. We are going on two dates, Oct 17 and 21 (the 21 falls on our 10th Anniversay to boot!). Both my daughters are getting new princess dresses of their choosing for their costumes this year (no costumes for my wife and I...both plus sized, and not really want to add more to the luggage then necessary. I do plan on bringing my beloved glow-in-the dark HM tshirt I got back in '03 though specificly for one night's event.) Looking forward to so much, in particular the photo op with the hearse in front of the HM (I love ghosts and haunted things), hopefully snagging a MNSSHP shirt, and just the overall atmosphere. This will be our first MNSSHP, all we've done in the past is a Pirate and Princess Party back in '08.
The reason we went with two party dates, was an experience from the P&PP. We started out at the HM, (after ressies at the Liberty Tree, getting out just before the offical start of the party), and worked our way slowly counter clockwise, catching the parade from the Hub, and fireworks from just outside Cosmic Rays, our cranky then 3 yr old daughter perked up when she saw Ariel's dance party and any tired/crankyness was forgotten, and she danced, danced, danced (Funny too, she was in a Cinderella Costume, and the "glass slipper shoes was a smidge big on her, and she kept losing her "slipper" as she danced.) My DW was 5 months pregnant with DD#2, so she was content to sit and watch from afar while I stayed close and took pictures and videos. After a long while, she took over watching duties to give me a chance to run to BTMR for a ride, it'd been years since I'd been on it. I made my way through Fantasyland just to where you reach Liberty Square, when I sighted Cinderella's Coach. Ooops! My wife so badly wanted a pic with it, and we'd forgotten it was in the park that night. I ran back and gathered them up to go, but my daughter did NOT want to go and had a little meltdown, which broke my heart. Thus two party dates...the first is to see everything, parade and fireworks, the sights and trick or treats, maybe a couple of rides if desired. The second we agreed is for my daughters. If they want to party all night, they can, we can swap out and so rides etc. Everyone is happy then

Wow! That really would be a huge change. I'm sure glad we got our photo of SW with the dwarfs last year. ![]() Quote:

Berlioz70 - I just noticed that you have Dr. Facilier listed under the villains mix and mingle meet. Will he be incorporated into the show too? My daughter is really into the villains lately and really would love to meet the shadowman!

I'm surprised that the 2010 map hasn't found its way online yet. Food & Wine is already up, and that starts later.

This is a great thread!!! Thanks for all the tips.
Something I wanted to add after calling DVC Member Services. There is no discount for almost ALL Friday MNSSHP for DVC/AP/or Advance purchases. I believe they said only Friday, October 1st will be the only Friday MNSSHP date that has the discounts. A little bummer that we don't get the discount but Friday, October 22nd is the only date we can make. |

Just curious, how do they make the regular day visitors leave? Or do they just let them stay but that can't trick or treat and ride the rides. If that's the case I would think a lot of people would stay just for the parade and fireworks.

The Cast members will be looking for bracelets- From reading I find the regular people will not even be able to use a bathroom and be escorted out. Maybe that is why they schedule the parade for later in the evening because after 1 1/2 hours I am sure someone would see people without bracelets during that time

I had the same concern. By 7:30pm I didn't see anyone without a wristband. I don't know how they do it (it seems like people could hide) but they manage to keep everyone out. I think after spending that much money on tickets most people would be happy to point out anyone they see without a band . I'm hoping when we go it won't be as crowded. Last time I was amazed at the number of people who spend the money to go to the party!

Usually there are several loud announcements over the speaker system that tell everybody that if you do not have a ticket and wristband for the party, you must leave now! then in order to get from say the hub into Adventureland, or Fantasyland, etc. there are CM's standing checking for wristbands. Even when waiting for the parade, there are CM's checking with flashlights for wristbands.
