That's a cute photo. We did see him and Chip N Dale in the area...long queues, so we gave them a miss.

Thanks...and we got some good ones with the extended family as well. I haven't asked them for permission to post; so I'm just limiting to just "us".

We did rather well out of photopass this time...and there may be one or two more sets coming up

You might notice there aren't many in the background. We were on a morning fastpass stampede and he was just coming out and I stalked him

You really did get great photos.

I thought that EXACT same thing and then I remembered the movie "Michael" that John Travolta was in (late 1990's ? ), one of my favorite movies (makes you laugh & cry )

After the Illuminations cruise, we were all a little sad as it was our last night at the World. It was time to come home; and truth be told, I was ready to head home.....I was still feeling sick-ish and ready to come home to my own bed.

But first, we were heading to Southern California to visit my dad's cousin and stay for a few nights with her. My aunt and I are particularly close in thinking and mindset; so it is always a joy to catch up with her whenever I can. Her and her husband draw me to SoCal like a magnet and as much as possible, we will always schedule a longer stopover to visit and chat.

We got up early and finished packing. It was sad to leave BCV and we had come to think of our villa and POR as our Disney home.

We caught ME to the airport. Check-in and the flight to LAX was really smooth and event-free.

We had decided to stay at my aunt’s place and the rest of the family decided to stay at Anaheim. And we had planned one extended-extended family dinner together.

My aunt chose a Chinese restaurant nearer Anaheim. We decided to order one of the banquets and here’s what we ate.

We started with Sang Choi Pow, fresh lettuce cups with a meat filling.



I think this was a pepper/garlic scallop dish; although it does look like prawns…



This is definitely the prawn dish!



We had yummy lobsters!



This was the next course….vegetables.



Followed by Crispy Skin Chicken.



And then the Tofu, Ma Poh style.



No Chinese banquet is complete without fish.



We also had the special friend rice.



Both desserts were typical Chinese “sweet soups” and they tasted overly sweet to me.





There was 12 of us for dinner and the bill came to about US$200, including tip. To us Aussies….an absolute bargain!

And, as always, we had a great time visiting my aunt.

To me $200 for a meal for 12 is a bargain too! I LOVE chinese food it looks delicious. I miss those big family reunions/dinners the best memories ever.

Yeah, I agree about $200 for a meal for twelve being a bargain Especially at a restaurant. You can obviously do it cheaper at home, but it's more difficult at a restaurant

I'm still fighting jetlag so am wide awake at 3am. Luckily I had about 12 pages of your trip report to catch up on!

Love all the pics and recaps. We stayed at Dolphin and went past BCV and Boardwalk nearly every day, so it was neat to see that we were in the same places .

Do you keep a diary while you're travelling? I can't imagine how you remember so much detail. I'm sorry to say that if I ever get around to writing a trip report that it won't be nearly as long or detailed.

Have to agree with you on the Kim Possible missions, my kids absolutely loved them and it turned out to be a highlight of the trip .

I have an elephant memory that resembles swiss cheese. Somethings I remember and its solid....othertimes, there are huge holes in it .

I knew you were going to ask that question....and I had one of those swiss cheese moments and can't remember the name. Its on Walnut in Irvine; and we took the Jeffrey Road exit to get to it as we were approaching from San Diego....There are Vietnamese/Chinese shops when you turn into Walnut. This restaurant was on the right hand side of Walnut. It was a Seafood restaurant and NOT the Shabu Shabu (see what I mean about elephant swiss cheese?).
