We braved the 4th!!! AND the rain...and the crowds??? 7/1-7/8 BOOKED NEXT TRIP!!!!
Heyyyyy!!! Well I've been back for a few days now and it's about time to get started on this TR!!! For those that are following me over from my PTR, thanks for coming along!! If you are new to my TR, you can check the PTR here!!
I feel like I've done enough TRs and PTRs where I ramble on about who I am and who really cares?! So I'm going to skip that part and just jump right in. If you want to know more about me and Tom, including our plans before we left, please read the PTR! All you need to know is that this was our 1st anniversary trip before our APs from our honeymoon last year, expired! So we decided to go for the 4th of July! Thursday ~ July 1, 2010 We woke up bright and early to the alarm clock at 4:30am! The car was coming at 4:45 so I'm not really sure why I only gave us 15 mins of waking up time, but I suppose I just wanted to leave as soon as possible, without the opportunity to rearrange bags and triple check that I had everything...I had already done all that the night before! So before we knew it, the car was here and we were on our way to Newark Airport for our 6:45am flight! Check-in and security went fairly smoothly and when we got to the gate, they were already starting to board. I love seeing how many other people on my flight are also going to WDW! When standing in the bag check line, there are always tons of people with the yellow ME tags and at the gate, I always see people in disney clothes or with disney bags. Even more on the way home!! I often wonder how many people would fly in and out of Orlando if WDW wasn't there....but I digress! We landed at MCO right on time...9am! I loved being there so early! For the first time ever, we just went straight to the ME area, without even stopping to use the bathroom! I just wanted on that bus! We only had to wait a minute or two and we were escorted to a bus that was already half full, which was fine with me because that meant it was leaving soon! Only a few more people got on after us and we were on our way!! The drver announced the first stop was POR!!! Wooo Hooo!! This bus driver was one of those guys that liked to talk and, unfortunately, the talking really slowed him down. I swear, other cars were flying by us and I was getting so impatient! I am a Jersey driver...we drive fast and we don't wait for anybody!! On top of that, he was giving us a lot of misinformation, including telling us to meet Tinkerbell and her 3 sisters and to make sure we go on the new Kim Possible ride in Epcot. FINALLY we arrived and I literally jumped out of the bus and walked very briskly to the front desk. Being that it was a little before 10am, there was no line at all. Since I had done the online check-in, I went to that line for the first time and was quite nervous about the building we'd get. When I made my reservation, I looked at the POR map and used that to request buildings 14, 18, 27, 38 or any of the mansions. Really, I gave them a lot of options! Imagine my shock when he told us our room wasn't ready but we will be in building 14!!! I think I actually said, "Woo Hooo!!" Here is a map of POR. Tell me we didn't win the POR building lottery!!!!  Now those of you who know me, know that I don't love TRs that are all talk and no show! So now that all the getting there business is taken care of...it's time for the pictures!!!! After we checked in (and got our Happy Anniversary buttons!), we headed straight to the Sassagoula River boat to head to DTD, as per the plan!! We got there around 10:15am and saw that the sign said it started running at 10 so we just had to wait for the boat....   Oh...might I add, it was a beautiful, sunny day!! Not too hot, just like the forecast I had read in advance promised!!! Soon the boat came and we were on our way!   It was kind of a long ride but we finally docked at DTD around 10:50am.  The plan was to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express and I knew they served breakfast until 11am. We decided we'd rather have lunch so we did a little shopping at the WOD before heading over there. If you remember from my PTR, I loved my bride ears from last year so much, I wanted new ears for this trip! I wanted the silver ones that were suggested on my PTR and thought I would find them this day at the WOD but they were no where to be found! Grrrr..... When we got to WPE, we decided to split the peperoni pizza and because it was so beautiful out, we sat in the outside area. FOOD PORN!!! (BTW, this TR will be filled with food porn!)   The pizza was very good but greee-asy! After lunch, we did a little more DTD shopping and decided we'd take the bus back to POR. Our room was ready!!! Our first bus stop wait of the trip!  Do you like my hipster?!?! This is the one that I bought specifically for this trip and it was wonderful!! We usually use the famous orange sling bag but it really was a pain to get things in and out of AND that bag was used for a different purpose this trip.......  Up Next: Room decorating! And the rain starts............

Yeah, they put out flights early!! I guess because it was so close to the holiday weekend. Normally, we get the 6:45 flight but this one as 6:15! I think I wrote 6:45 in the last post but it was 6:15am!
