I was just thinking those poor chefs...talk about raising the bar of expectation on their craft they not only have to have a high magical standard to begin with now they have a family that has been salivating & dreaming for 180 days at least God Bless them I could never do that !

Hey, the more pressure I can put on my old coworkers, the happier I'll be One of my old custodial coworker is going down for a culinary program soon. I don't remember when he's going to be there, but I know he's been accepted.

I think this is partially why you can be SOOO disappointed in a meal and at the time so angry if it isn't meeting the expected standard (and especially if it doesn't even come close).
For me this came in the form of Le Cellier. I discovered after all the hype they were incapable of cooking a Well done steak to even a competent standard let alone a superior quality expected given the price and hype.

But getting back to the main lady
Sounds definitely like a might be rather than a might not be

All that food porn has me salivating. I swear if you post that photo of dolewhip again I'll come down to Melbourne and slap you silly!

I hope you do go because it really will be a wonderful treat for you and let you have a DS free experience. As cute and wonderful as he is (love the photos in the TR and hearing about the family stuff. You clearly had a great time together.) I reckon you could do with some adult time.
And HOPEFULLY you will not be SICK this time!

Oooh! I see your problem! At the risk of you slapping me silly (how many times now?? ), the fault lies in your order; not the cooking. You want to KILL that poor steak! I've been dialling back my steak order for a number of visits now.

• I started with well done.
• I moved back to medium/well done.
• I then hit medium.
• I'm now at medium/rare.

For my next visit, I'm going to cross that sacred cow and order my steak rare. It might actually come out well done .

BTW - This overcooking of a well done steak is consistent across all of the USA; not just at WDW.

Well, information is power. As I KNOW that you've already exhausted your Sydneysider excuse of "one visit a year to Melbourne is all I can take" at Easter, I think I'm pretty safe for THIS year.

Now I would be willing to change my rule if you can convince my boss I can have more leave and pay my airfare

As for Steak...yeah yeah yeah...I know most people like their meat raw...and complain if people dare to cook it.
I just keep thinking of in the movie with Catherine Zeta Jones where she comes out of the kitchen with a raw steak and smacks it into the table

My biggest complaint with Le Cellier is it was a medium at best that had been chucked into an open flame. raw red in the middle...charcoal on the outside. And they did it to all 3 orders. Thankfully it wasn't me expected to eat it. I got the Veal which was pretty good...
The Wave AND R&C BOTH managed to make BEAUTIFUL well done steaks though so the order isn't the problem.
The Summit...in Sydney...heard of it? They have perfected the art of a well done steak as well.

It's official! I am no longer cheering from the sidelines...


DH's managers have agreed that he needs to spend some time in the Head Office after the conference.

So, my equation is not just Fly 2 days for 3 at WDW; it also includes 2 full days in Silicon Valley, plus an extra day that I will count as transition time from Orlando to San Francisco.
In short, I will have 6 full days in the US, which is definitely an equation I like!

It might NOT be a might not be going PTR....Let the planning continue in earnest!

If you've been following this thread, you'll have noticed that DisneyFirefly, LuvChefMic and I had a bit of chatter around Step 5 (post 33) about getting all hot and sweaty over a bike and "dusting" off the equipment.

We also thought we would eat right and try and lose some of that excess saddle bag weight that we're carrying.

Well, I've lost 0.3 kg.
