QS dining plan for kids

What places will give kids the most bang for their buck on the QSDP?

One of the things my DS8 complained about 2 years ago was the fact that there was no variety for kids at the places we ate.

Is there any option out there that provides more than just the standard kids menu items like mac & cheese or chicken nuggets or a small burger?

We have had a similar issue in the past too, here is what we found as kids' options outside the mac-nugget/strip-burger entree spectrum:

AK
Flame Tree BBQ - chicken leg
Pizzafari - spaghetti or pizza
Yak & Yeti - egg roll

EPCOT
Sunshine Seasons - chicken leg & mashed potatoes, sweet n sour chicken with rice
Liberty Inn - chicken salad
Lotus Blossom - barbecue chicken leg

DHS
Pizza Planet or Catalina Eddie's - pizza
ABC Commissary - deli wrap (this is very old information though cause we never go here anymore)
Studio Catering Co - chicken leg

MK
Cosmic Ray's - chicken salad, pb&j
Pecos Bill's - chicken salad
Pinocchio's Village Haus - pizza, pb&j

We were going to give the Quick service plan a shot this year, we thought it would be nice to not have to plan anything around TS, but this is what made us change our minds.
My kids are young (4 and 7) and not big eaters, but last year they ended up eating off our plates at most QS restaurants because they got sick of chicken nuggets, burgers, and pizza. No way was my 4 year old going to eat apple sauce and cheese pizza, when mommy had pasta with his favorite shrimp in it!! I couldn't see doing 2 QS a day with them this year.
This year we are either going to do the regular dining plan, or just skip it and let the kids split something off the adult menu.
I totally get why Disney restricts the kids to certain meals, but I wish there was a way you could upgrade at the restaurants. It would be awesome if you could just pay oop for the difference between a kids meal and the adult meal when you wanted.

Thumbs up Try These

Cooke's of Dublin at DTD offers the following on their Junior's Menu:
Fish & Chips
Battered Chicken Tenders
Baby Sausages & Chips
Shrimp & Chips

The Lotus Blossom Cafe in World Showcase offers:
Beijing Barbecue Drumstick

Its fun to browse through all the Counter Service menus so regardless of the park or location you have an idea of which CS to target ... allears.net has a complete list of WDW menus.

Also check out the French CS in Epcot - they have ham and cheese baquettes and you get to pick from the pastries for the dessert. There is no kids menu, so they get what you get.

Casey's Corner and Yorkshire County Fish Shop both do not have a kid's menu, so your kids could have an adult meal.
