has anyone ever done the aqua seas tour in epcot
if you have please tell me all about it. it is the one where you have the special respirator and do not need your certification. i will have DD10 and DS 13 with me and both are kind of scary. i know that the suits float but i am curious how they will feel swimming on the surface and seeing 27 feet of water under them.
thank you skip

My family did this in 2005, My daughter was 11 and my son 13, they loved it. Even the two large sharks that were in there two. (They weren't there when we were back in 2009.) There were two guides up top with us. Personnaly the only scary part was being 40 years old and walking thru the crowd with a wet suit on. I have to say we still talk about that experience. If your kids are used to the water I think they would be fine.

My sister and I did this last fall (we're mid to late 20s), and we loved it. We want to do it again when we go back. We're life-long swimmers, so that was no issue for us, I was actually a little worried she wouldn't like it because you really can't go under at all.
But I also teach swim lessons to kids, so I do have some experience with hesitancy and water, especially putting one's face in. :P The life jacket deal you put on will totally keep them afloat. You'd have to try pretty hard to get anything more than your face in. When you're in there it doesn't look 27 feet deep; I certainly didn't think it looked that deep. If they've never snorkeled before, you may want to try that in advance in a local pool or something, just so they have some experience with fins and having something in their mouth to breathe into and out of. The Aqua Tour is easier than snorkeling though, because you don't have to worry about water getting in the regulator you have in your mouth. I pretty much moved myself around with my hands and arms; so they don't need to be strong swimmers, they just might want to be used to using the fins/masks.
