A wedding, two first timers, and 3000 photos! New update 9/12 - The DIS Discussion Forums

Welcome! This is my second trip report. Sadly the first was never, and I assume never will be finished!
However this one will be different I promise!!!! Want to find out how this trip came to be, and lots of boring stuff about my thoughts before hand? Go here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2310247.

Ok now that all of that is out of the way, how about you get to know us all a bit.

This is me, Beth 21 at the time of the trip, now 22. I am in school, working on my master’s degree. I work 2 part time jobs to feed my Disney habit, as I refuse to go into debt to see the mouse. Here you see me super excited at Disney on Ice. Anytime I am near something Disney I tend to get excited.

This is Josh, now the DH. Josh didn’t quite understand the Disney magic going into this trip. He is 22, also in college, and proud to serve our country in the National Guard. He can be serious at times, but is my partner in crime, and really let his inner kid out on this trip.

This is Andrea(on our last trip), AKA sis (as in my sister’s princess) Andrea took me on my first trip to Disney for spring break in 2008. Andrea moved to SC to have her dream job a few years ago, so we really only see each other on vacation. Andrea is the DVCer in the group, so it is only thanks to her that we get to stay in the amazing places we do. Andrea is also the master of surprises.

Here we have John. I swear his eyes are open. John is Andrea’s new beau. We are still on the fence about him, but he passed the Disney test, so we might keep him. This was also John’s first trip to Disney.

So there you have the whole crew.

This trip report will contain an obscene number of pictures: people, wedding, food porn (yes I am a good DISer), and places/things. It will contain information you find useless, and useful!

Please feel free to add any comments, questions, or answers to anyone else’s questions at any point!

Sign me up, Chica! Can't wait to see all the pics! We (your group and my group) should all plan a trip together, since now there will be two DVC'ers in the group. LOL It would be loads of fun.

ETA: I love the pictures in your signature line... especially the one of you guys playing air hockey. Can't take you anywhere. LOL

Day 1, Travel day!

Josh and I got ready to leave the snowy ickyness that was Maine! Our flight was scheduled out at 4:20, and Josh had Army stuff all day, so I was left at home. Was I finishing packing? No. Was I cleaning? No. Was I DISing? YES ding ding ding!!!! I have photos from my preparing for the trip, curtsy of PebblesMK and some other nice DISers asking for them.
Here ya go, the first of the many photos.

Our bags all packed and ready to go! This was not an easy task, considering we were taking a full weeks worth of clothes, plus my wedding dress, and Josh’s uniform!

This is Bruce! Bruce is my baby. He is named after the shark in Finding Nemo, I have a hard time convincing him that fish are friends, not food though.

So I have everything all packed up, it hits 10:00 and Josh calls. He tells me that he doesn’t know what time they will release him (we got special permission for him to leave Army stuff early to catch our plane) I started freaking, he was 2.5 hours away, and he didn’t know when they would let him go!!! Then he told me he was kidding and was on his way home. Very funny. He gets home, the roomie gets home (he took us to the airport) and we start out on the trip!
Arriving at the airport we pay half our life savings ($50) to check our two big bags, and head off with my small rolley bag, a garment bag, and my “personal item” bag. I walk right through security having a great time. Not Josh though lol! He gets pulled to the side and has his hands wiped down. I fully expected trouble, as he had been playing Army all weekend (come to find out he didn’t use a gun that weekend) But he was declared safe to pass and we were on our way! We head over to the waiting area, where we relax and look over the books we got for Christmas from Mickey! We got a book on secrets and took turns looking it over, and talking to a very nice man next to us who had never flown before. As we were sitting there TSA came through with a dog. I have never felt so safe flying before, it was really nice to see that security has really been beefed up! Before we knew it, it was time to board!
We head down the way to the plane to find we have bulk head seats! The flight attendant nicely tells us we will need to plane side check our garment bag!! OMG I explain to her what is in the bag, and she makes the call that the bag will not leave our side. She said she was not going to be responsible for a lost wedding dress and Army uniform, so she has the people behind us trade seats with us so we are able to squish it under the seats! Crisis avoided!
We arrive safely in Detroit, grab some Popeye’s Chicken and head for our next flight. We climb onto the plane to find that there is almost no one on board. There were people sitting alone in three seat rows! Josh and I were able to spread out and nap a bit on our way to Orlando!
We land and hop on the ME, which I have never taken before. I was sad to say I was the only one who cheered when the buss driver asked who was excited to be in Disney! It may have had something to do with the fact it was 11:00pm…… Soon enough we are at Old Key West, relaxing with Andrea and John, who had driven in the night before.

Up Next – Josh and John meet Mickey and why is it still Christmas in January??

DH wasn't so sure about the food porn

he thought it was odd I took pictures of everything we ate. I have had a bag lost on the airlines, it wasn't fun! The rest of the bags didn't matter as much lol I could replace everything but his uniform!

Yeah, some folks do give strange looks, but why should it be any different than taking pictures of anything else in the park? And c'mon, who does not love food, especially on vacation. Course, my wife takes pictures of everything, so nothing strikes me as odd.

We met another DISer at Cali Grill, she saw me taking pictures of my food in my wedding dress, it lead to a funny conversation, I will post all about it later.
