Omg

This is soo addicting....this thread is awesome!

Great ideas.

Next June when we go...I want to do all of this stuff....which I am sure is more for me then the family!

I did want to do a welcome / decorating for my parents 50th..so love the ideas....thanks so much for posting.

I am curious how people use the dining invitations...do you just give everyone in the party one the morning of or do you give everyone a book with all of them at one time...leave it on their pillow the night before....

I will have 8 of us in one room.

I slid them under the hotel room doors each night after everyone had snuggled in for the evening. My dad commented one morning how we had the best concierge who kept leaving reminders of our daily reservations, and wondered how they knew about all of our daily events. I never told him it was me.

Also, for decorating your parents room...check out this website as it will give you pictures for how to decorate and things to leave for a "romantic congratulations":
http://www.ftdfloristsonline.com/wal...ations/display

AND this thread has lots of wonderful things and ideas for decorating your room/condo:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2342599

Finally...start now if you are going next June!!! Spend $10 here and there on Disney items at the dollar stores and keep them in a "Disney" box. Then every week/month or so plan an item that you want to make during that time period like autograph books, t-shirts, welcome letters, invitations, etc. If you are going to do everything on this thread you will need all the time possible to get it done on top of your daily life. Don't feel like you have to do it all...most people just pick one or two things to make. No matter how hard we try...no one is super woman. If you make even 10% of what you find on the Boards...I guarantee your trip will be magical! Even if you don't make a single thing, your trip will be magical. The time that you spend with family and/or friends is more important than what you make, bring or buy. After the trip is over, it is the memories of the time together that mean the most and you carry in your heart.

The first time I went to Disney as an adult, I made lots of the things on the Boards and a few months after that had an unexpected visit to WDW without the shirts, autograph books, etc. Both trips were equally wonderful.

I wasn't even the one that asked, but I read every word and even copied all of the different links! Definitely not too long! Thank you so much that was great information. I am new to all of this and loving it - my son keeps asking if I will be on the computer much longer - I told him I think so!
Thanks for the Info!

Coming from a mom whose child was lost in Animal Kingdom at age 4 for almost an hour - we never spent another day at Disney without contact information on several locations on their clothes etc. I do have one suggestion - my daughter was only 9 months old when my son got lost, but on our next trip about five months later she was walking, so I made tags (labels - I had not seen all of this cute stuff back then) for her, but attached them to her back so she could not see them, but they were big enough for other people to see.

I read a great tip for doing this on another thread. Use the extra white space on your transfer paper for your contact information. Then you can iron it to the underside of the bottom hem of their shirts and teach them to show it to a Disney employee. I also make lanyards that the kids wear with a picture of their favorite character on the front and all of the names and phone numbers for everyone traveling with us and the hotel contact information. Still use the iron-ons to put contact information inside of their clothes as lanyards can be taken off and lost.

Does anyone have a recommendation for the lanyards? The last time we went to DL we received free AAA lanyards and used those during our stay. (I don't know that we'll receive any from our WDW travel agent this year.)

I saw that the Disney website has them for $15 to $25 each, but that's over $100 for my family. Does anyone have suggestions for finding less expensive lanyards? Or, ideas on making them? I can be crafty if need be!

You can get a pack of 5-10 at office supply stores, Hobby Lobby (and I think Michaels). You can find them individually for around $1.00-2.50 depending on the store and sales. Packages of them are usually around $8.00 - 12.00. These are the thinner lanyards so they aren't the best if you are into pin trading. Office supply stores sell the thicker ones for a little bit more but still way under the $15.00 - 25.00 you were seeing on the Disney website...I hope there were some pins that came with those!

You're right, Dolly. They do come with the pins on the website. I thought it was a ridiculous price! Thanks for the great information and your time!

I just thought of something that I don't think has been mentioned on this thread: CAST MEMBER APPRECIATION

I know that it has been mentioned to leave notes, mints and/or treats for mousekeeping as well as tip envelopes for meals, but I don't think anyone has mentioned CM (Cast Member) Appreciation. It is great to have a little something when a cast member goes out of their way for you or you trade a pin with them. Bababear (Mel) has great CM Appreciation Cards as well as mint matchbooks. Here are some of her threads to look through:

STROLLER LICENSE PLATES

There have been several requests lately for stroller license plates. Jay Hasker has the GREATEST ones that he has been making, but he hasn't replied to the thread he was posting them on, so I thought I would make some similar ones. You can find them in my 4shared file in the link in my signature, then look in the "license plate" file.

I'm not personalizing these, but they are super easy to personalize if you have MS Word by adding a textbox. The font that I used for the name, month and year is "Ariel Black" which is on most computers. Here is a link that teaches you the simple steps to adding a name using a textbox:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2286193

lisalisalisa found a great "license plate" font that you can download for free at this link:
http://www.fontspace.com/dave-hansen/license-plate

Marion (Rustmanfan) has also made lots of license plates. Like me...she is not personalizing, but it is super easy to add a name, month and year. Here is a link to her plates:

To make, you will definitely want to print your license plate on cardstock paper. I highly recommend getting it laminated so that it will make it through your trip to Disney. You can buy a relatively inexpensive laminating machine at Walmart. You can also take it to be laminated any office supply store or copy/print shop. I attached mine with cable ties to the handle of my stroller. Make sure you don't tie it tight. You will want to leave some slack for it to dangle below the handle so that you can still get your fingers/hand around the handle. Hope that makes sense! If you have a basket under the stroller you can attach it to that as well, but I prefer it on the handle so that I could see it and quickly locate my stroller.

You can also use these for wheelchairs and electric scooters!

Oh my this thread will just add fuel to my fire! What great ideas, thanks to all for sharing!!!!!

I am wondering whether to do pillowcases or autograph books? We did books in 07. We love to scrapbook so these would be great but pillowcases might be unique for us and get seen alot more.

Any thoughts?

Sandy

Some people do both. They have an autograph book for around the parks and they make pillowcases for special events like character meals, BBB, etc.

Can I ask you guys - do you make autograph pages to bind together later when you have got them signed? Or do you make a book and 'hope' to get all the pages signed?
