Tim Horton style coffee in K Cups?

To help my budget, I'd like to avoid paying $1.58 each day for my caffeine hit. since K cups are about 0.40 each I'm looking at the Keurig coffee maker. Is there a K Cup that is close to Tim Horton house brewed coffee? I looooovvveee TH coffee. TIA.

Man, I miss Tim Hortons. I'm Canadian, but we're living in Seattle now, and Vancouver is much too far to drive for my "hit".

I've found that Timothy's Midnight Magic Extra Bold is pretty close to TH, when you brew it on the largest setting. Not exact, but close enough to home for me.

I wish we had Tim Hortons here! I miss it....I haven't seen any similar K cups.

I usually stock up on TH coffee when I go home to Canada for visits with my family. They will send it down in the occasional "care" package too !

Wegman's supermarkets in New Jersey stock Tim Horton's coffee. Love the stuff....don't have to go to Canada for it.

Keurig sells a K-cup adapter (so to speak). You can put any of your favorite coffees in it (non k-cups) and it will brew it as if it was a K-cup. Does that make sense?

I didn't know that the Keurig has an adapter. That is good to know!

I saw that Tim Hortons is in certain places outside Canada - but all are well north of me. I am in Florida....maybe they will franchise here at some point!

I have the basket adaptor and use Tim Horton's Coffee in in all the time. Mine came with my machine which I got at Costco, but I know you can buy them on line for about $14. What it is is a little wire filter basket in a plastic cone with a snap on lid. The closest I have found to Tim's is the Coffee People - Donut Shop Coffee - Coffee mix. Unfortunately, it is really hard to find in Canada, so I will stick with Tim's.

I am new to this board so please excuse my duplicate answer if it is already on the board.

Everyone is asking for Tim's K-cups but there is a solution to having your Timmy's NOW lol. Just get the accessory single serving basket and the holder that comes with it. You can buy them separately at any big box or coffee shop that sells Keurig. Then all you do is take out the regular dispenser and replace it with the basket and holder you just bought. Then put in the Tims Coffee that you buy in metal tins at Tims. I put in around 2 1/2 tsps and then brew!! I dont have to go to Tim Horton's to stand in the insane line ups any more, I save money and I can have it at any time! The cup accessory is called "My K-Cup. So now that I have made your life a little easier lol go out and buy one, you wont be sorry!!

In addition to the My K-cup, which requires that you take out part of the brewing assembly to use it (and from what I've read elsewhere, can get grounds in your coffee), there is a similar make your own cup called the EkoBrew that is getting good reviews. It works just like a commercially available K cup, only with the coffee of your choice.

The name of the Keurig accessory is "My KCup", and it comes in 3 pieces - the cone, the bayonet-connect cap and a mesh filter (lioiks like a tiny version of the wire mesh filters in the big models).

If you like your coffee strong, over time you just have to experiment and come to know how much coffee to add to the mesh filter and you will no longer need the KCups again. My preference is for one slightly rounded teaspoon of Fine Grind.

I don't like mine bitter or sharp, so I drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the mesh filter (it's plastic, not wire) and use it just to hold a paper filter in place. I started with the Number 1 size (pre-formed, not a circle), but they are getting kind of expensive (and rare) so I tried the number 2 filters (also pre-formed) and they work just fine - even the cheap yellow-label no-name ones.

I start by folding the bottom up about 1/2 inch, then the top across enough for the basket to fit, then the other end over that. Open the filter top and space it out with your finger, push the basket in, then push basket and filter together into the cone. Add your coffee, then the cap, and make a brew.

I find the paper filter gives me the strong rounded flavour like I get in the store, but with the mesh alone it's too harsh for me.

I hear tell that for a true cup of Timmy's you should put a few drops of maple syrup in the bottom of the cup before you brew... works for me!!

BTW, I looked at all the other devices on the market for making your own coffee in a Keurig - don't waste your time and money. The My KCup is very sturdy and works just fine.

I have the EkoBrew and love it!!! I really didn't like the "My K-cup" for a few reasons and prefer this one. One of the reasons is that with the MyKcup the basket is mesh and you can't really bang it on the side of the garbage can to loosen the grounds. With the Ekobrew you just tap it, and it all comes out most of the time. Just makes cleaning a little easier and then you can wash it. We don't ever buy Kcups anymore unless we want a special treat. We just buy our favourite coffees and use the Ekobrew. It's much cheaper and so much less waste.

I have both the Kcup and the Eko. II prefer the Kcup. I like to use a coarse grind otherwise you get sludgey stuff in the bottom of the cup, not as bad with the Kcup.
