Allergies and Restaurants

Im anaphalactic to shellfish and mushrooms. My fiance really really wants to eat at Teppan Edo but I'm extremely concerned about cross contamination of food there.
Do you know if they can accomodate my allergies?

I was told by a chef at Tokyo Dining that it's not safe for people with shellfish allergies to eat there. I'm not sure if Teppan Edo would be the same or not. I think it had to do with shrimp being cooked in the same fryer as all the other breaded foods.

Contact Brenda with Special Dining to find out for sure. She'll get you in touch with a chef at the restaurant who can let you know of any safety issues.

You can find the contact information for WDW allergy information in post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. There is a link to that thread in my signature.

I don't think it would be a good idea to eat there. Everything is cooked on the same grill so the chance of cross contamination is pretty good.

Teppan Edo will cook your food in back if you have concerns about allergies. The manager will come out and talk to you and find out what your needs are. Whether or not it's safe for all allergies I can't say, but I know they will certainly make some accommodations.

Teppan Edo can be safe! We ate there in May and are going back again in December. They have a special grill in the back that is the "allergy grill" that they clean well after each cooking and will cook yours seperately and special for you and bring it out while they cook the rest of your party on the grill in front of you. We had no problems what so ever. I would contact Brenda and even contact Teppan Edo but honestly, from my experience, you should be fine.

Allergies and Restaurants

I just wanted to say thanks. I went to my doctor and I do have asthma. I have been on an inhaler now for a few days and it has made my life so much better. I do have allergies as well, but that wasnt the main problem my doctor said. Thanks for the help
