It's not the pace of life than concerns me... it's the sudden stop at the end.

I missed the original posts regarding her illness while away on vacation month.

I'm totally speechless...

My thoughts & prayers go out to her family

Ever since I read that she passed away, I have had a very heavy heart. Our thought as prayers go out to the family. With all the medical technology, you would think this could never happen.

According to Vicky's father, she had back pain and went to have it checked out. The doctor discovered she had fluid in her lungs. She went into the hospital around Oct. 16. About a week later she had some type of surgery. She developed pneumonia and three weeks after that she was gone.

Other friends may know more details, but this is the basic story.

I will miss my friend terribly. And my thoughts and prayers are with her family and daughter.

She had not been feeling well for a couple of weeks and then believed she had pinched a nerve in her neck. She went to the hospital in October and was then diagnosed with nocardia pneumonia, where 10% of the cases are fatal, higher if there is infection. She had surgery to drain the fluid that was in her. She was on the mend and when I talked to her a bit over a week ago she was looking forward to being discharged. Last week things very quickly went downhill and she passed away. It seems likely that something with surgery recovery may have had a negative impact with the toll the pneumonia took.

Vicky was a single parent so please keep sweet Gabby in your prayers.

Hey Kim, I hate seeing you under such sad circumstances. I've known Vicky since high school and it's both difficult and surreal to know she's gone.

I had talked to her on FB some and just so sad.

I never met her in person. But it is so sad.

Do you know how Gabby is doing?

Thank you for explaining us what happened, I'm still in shock, even if I didn't knew her in person. Please keep us update on how the little Gabby is doing. I'm praying for her and sending her lots of pixie dust.

Like I asked before, is there anything we can do for Gabby and the rest of Vicky's family?
