Il Mulino At the Swan?

Hi everyone-

I'll be going to Disney in January, staying at the Yacht Club. Usually, we habitually go to the Portobello Yacht Club in DTD but haven't been enjoying the last few trips and the restaurant in Italy left us cranky and hungry.

I looked at the menu for Il Mulino at the Swan and it looks really good, any experiences? I'm assuming it's not on the dining plan, although I remember the last time we went a few restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin were on the list...?

None of the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin accept the dining plan. To my knowledge, none of them ever have.

We went to this restaurant last spring at the last minute...It was probably the best dinner I have had at WDW...outstanding service too!

Great place! I have been there many times and love it! I recently returned from a trip with a friend and he pronounced dinner at Il Mulino as the best meal of the trip (and we also ate at Cal Grill, Sanaa and bluezoo). It is expensive, but very good.

We've eaten there twice, and loved it both times. Excellent food and service.

We have dined here for the past 3 years and has been great. It has been only half full each time we have gone-so I would not worry about not getting in unless there is a large convention. The place can be noisy, but it was pretty subdued this past year. It tends to be chilly also, so bring a sweater to cover up if you wish.

The portions are large, but they do offer smaller portions of the pasta dishes. The menu is a la carte and the meat dishes do not come with sides of pasta, mainly sauteed spinach or another vegetable.

We recieved very personalized service-you have 2-3 servers hovering around you all night removing plates, delivering food etc.

Check out my review from our October 09 trip, see post #12

Have they got a bar where a solo person could eat without having to get a table or a reservation?

They have a lounge and bar area located in the entrance of the restuarant. We have seen people eating snacks and entrees there. It tends to be a pretty happening place the later it gets.

It is pretty darn sad when a valet picks you out as a big Boma eater

I'm pretty certain you can get a full meal at the bar as well.
The dress code is the same as all Disney Signature restaurants, so cargo shorts/jeans would be just fine. Just no swimwear, torn clothes, things like that.
We've eaten there 3x now--I can vouch for their veal parm!!! A nice wine list as well.

You will see everything from park attire to resort casual. Your boys will be fine.
