Quotes on WDW site? And booking ?'s
So when you get a quote on the WDW site - does that automatically include any discounts/promos that they have going or not?
Does the website only show you the options that are available to you on your travel dates - if it is not shown that means it is booked? What's the best way to go about booking your trip - book directly through Disney or use a travel agent? |

If there is a special going on - like the 4/3 offer or free dining -you will have to click through a link on the main Disney site to get that pricing. If you just go to the reservations area directly from the main Disney page - you won't get quoted the special offer pricing.
If something is not available for the dates you put in, or the "deal" you're looking for - then it won't show up, but alternatives will be suggested. I personally never use a travel agent - can't stand not having control. Others really like using a TA. I think it's very important though that you work with a TRUE Disney specialist TA -- not just any TA. You really need someone who understands Disney. One plus of a good TA is that they will pay attention to any new offers that come out and apply them to your reservation to save you money. They can also make your dining reservations, advocate for you if you have any problems before or during your trip, etc.

Oh thanks Vicki - I used the linky and it worked! A much better price
I think I am leaning towards a TA since it is our first trip. It might be better that way. |

You have limited options on the online reservations. Not all the discounts are listed on the website. I have noticed the system will automatically give you the rack rate unless for example you hit the passholder link ahead of time and go in through that path.
If you want a discount you will have to find the link. They dont make it easy. I am eligible for the AP, Fla Res and Dis Visa. I find it is just easier to call CRO and book through them. I have the discount codes ready to tell them. Both CRO and Online will opt for the higher rate view first. So I specify or change the option to the standard rate too. I recently looked online and called CRO both gave me the AP rate for the Woods view at WL. I had to ask if there were any Standard rooms available at the AP rate. They are being tricky. They used to give you the option and tell you all the views that were available at that discount. |

I like using a TA.
Our first trip I called disney directly based on a newspaper ad (back in the day when people still read newspapers) for a 4/3 promo. The CMs really don't volunteer anything -- you have to ask. The past trip & this I used a TA and it is nice discussing options with her via email before deciding. The only disadvantage I can see of using a TA is that apparently you don't get an email with a photopass discount offer. |

Thanks everyone! I have played around on the site and found the discounts. Now just to make a decision on where to stay!
