Hi everyone...remember me I switched my ressi over to July 19th and the thread is off and running. WE are a bunch of chatter boxs over there

I will be sailing a week before you so as you are heading out I will be heading home. We are going to do a week in Canada before the cruise if we can get a good rate with our DVC points with Intrawest.

I cant believe the price for plane flight from San Diego its more than if we flew out from New Jersey. longer lay overs also....go figure...we are looking at about $500-$550 a person...that's like a lot for 5 persons, not to mention taking 6 hrs for what should be a one way for 2.5 hrs....UGH

Anyway wanted to stop in and say Hi and since we are so close together I will stop in from time to time and scoop out what info you all came up with. Stop by over at our meet also and check out page 1...I will be posting all kinds of info on there also...like cheep plane flights

Happy cruising and chat soon

We will miss meeting you. Perhaps another cruise. Have you thought of flying into Seattle?

Looks like you could take a fun trip on Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver, BC for about $70 per person.

Angie, the PC repo didn't go up until after 9 am though. That thing was going up in price every 30 minutes 2 1/2 years ago while we sat on hold. That is the one that amazed me. It did go up tonight for 4 people...but not 3.

It is much cheaper to fly into Seattle. I got a price of $105 for the 4 of us to take Amtrak to Vancouver from Seattle one way.

Hello

Hello Everyone:

We will be joining you on the July 26 Alaskan cruise. We were able to book last Wednesday and are excited to be heading to Alaska with the Disney Wonder. We have only been on the Disney Magic so this will be great. We are in a category 4A room. See you all onboard.

I'm looking at Amtrak from Whitefish, MT. But....it looks like the link from Seattle to Vancouver is by Amtrak bus, not train. That would be okay though. We can get a sleeper car for the two of us for around $325 total. We may think about this. That sounds fun to me!

I did and it was only around $50 a piece less if that...I checked out of LA, and other Airports in the area and all the same. I tryed flying to all different areas in Ca. Seattle, and other and the price had no real change.

We can afford it. It's just the principle of the thing. The airlines cry no one will fly them but they keep giving us less and charging us more and gas is not going up. These airlines cry bankruptcy and want the GOV to bail them out yet they continue to do what they do.

Maybe they will have an airline war when it gets close to going and we can fly out for $99 each way okay okay...I'm dreaming but it has been known to happen

That does sound like fun. I will have to see what Amtrak from here would cost for that....I will check that out tomorrow. Would not need a sleeper car either. Wonder if they go into Canada? Any idea?

OOPs, sorry, I misread that. It is around $300 each way for us in a sleeper car. Still only around $600 door to door. Easier trip than driving the 12 hours or so to get there. We will see.

Where do you live? Your drive is 12 hrs?

I checked out Amtrac last night. Will take a day and a half to get there and not much different than flying with sleeper car.

Count Us In!

Hello, everyone! We will be joining you on the July 26th sailing! We are cruising this November and swore we wouldn't book anymore because we are considering building a new house. Well, once the time came around and the itinerary was Alaska, I no longer cared about building a new house. We just had to do this cruise!

We are:

Brian (my husband)
Susan (me)
Brianna (16 at time of cruise)
Brandon (13 at time of cruise)

We booked a cat. 11B. We've never sailed in an inside stateroom, but I was trying to keep the cost down, so we'll see how we end up liking it. I really didn't care as long as we were in though! I was in complete sticker shock with the deposit though, but atleast it feels like a big chunk of our trip is already paid for.

What will everyone do as far as pre-cruise? I went ahead and had Disney add air to our package, but I will probably change it once it gets closer. I did a comparison on travelocity for the same time next summer, and air is expensive! I also found that flying in to Seattle was a lot cheaper!

I'm anxious to get to know everyone and cannot wait for this cruise to arrive!

Susan

Robin,
When we did a Thanksgiving cruise, I was posting on the wrong thread for a couple of weeks before I realized I was on the wrong thread. Atleast you can honestly say you were on this cruise originally! I'm still sitting here tonight in shock that I have to pay 2400 dollars right now. Ouch! Someone please tell me--IT WILL BE WORTH IT, right?

Susan

Welcome to the new cruisers. Can't wait to get to know you all, and we have a LOT of time to do so. Even longer than when we went on the Panama Canal Cruise.
