We go through customs in Toronto when departing and returning home, I'm 100% sure, I just called the airline.

Not enough tags?
Anyone else have this experience? We got our Magical Express packet and not enough tags were in the envelope!
We are flying Southwest and can take 2 bags each for free. However, we only received 1 tag per person. When we called to ask if they would send more, they told us to just make a sign that says "Magical Express" and put it on our luggage. Does this work? Anyone done this? I've had luggage lost before, so I'm a bit skeptical!

My guess is that when you called, you called the main Disney number and not the DME number. The cast member you spoke with was dead wrong. That CM obviously doesn't realize the functionality of the DME tags. They have pre-printed personalized information, and the most important part of that is a few barcodes that allow the tag to be scanned and automatically be sent to the right resort and the right room. Yeh, that CM was really ... out there. Please call DME, and you'll speak with a DME cast member, someone who understands DME, versus calling a generic call center and having the CM give his/her totally uninformed opinion. And I'm very glad that you thought to come here and ask this question!!! |

Thanks!
I thought that sounded a little suspect! It was actually the booking agent at DVC who told my mom (we're staying with her points!). I will call the DME number directly- I knew that the info on the tags was the key to getting everything to the room. Thanks again!!

If there are yellow tags on your bags, they will get delivered to your resort. HOWEVER, if your flight arrives after 10pm you will have to get them yourself.

Checked with DME
You should have heard the CM on the line at DME when I told her what the DVC people told my mom to have me do! She said that was a good way to get the bags lost!
![]() She said it was no problem to have more printed- it will take about 5 days to recieve them- and that a DME "sign" on the bag would not work- the tags are specifically coded to get to the right place by DME. She also said it would not work if you "cut" the tags in half- they need to scan both sides... and that some poor woman last week had spent the better part of an afternoon copying and cutting tags on yellopw paper so they would be the same coding to have them work. MUCH easier to just call and get more sent! |

Thanks for posting the number. I called today as we discovered we are going to have to add some bags, but do not have enough time to get new tags in the mail. The DME agent advised me that we can give the CM at the checkin desk our SW Airlines baggage claim numbers and they will still pick up any bags that do not have the tags on them.

Each tag should measure about 10-12". Then, you fold them over to make one that is about 6" long when it has been put on the piece of luggage. There is a square piece at each end of that 10-12" piece that comes off and is stuck to the other end..which makes the tag then about 6" looped around the handle.
If you try to make 4 out of the 2 tags, they will be too small and may not read properly when scanned at MCO. |

Worrying about losing luggage
We leave for 8 days at POFQ tomorrow!
We are taking ME to our resort. The luggage tags we received have the wrong date on them. I called ME and was told not to use the tags, just give them the baggage claim stubs when we get there. I am a worrier and am thinking it would be much safer if we go to baggage claim and get our bags and have them on the bus with us. Help please!
