What a great idea, fairykin! If I did not have to depend on airlines, and their always changing schedules, I would think about trying that out. Yay - I paid off the CC bill (in full) which had my Disneyland trip on it today.

What does this mean? It means December is now officially paid for

Hey Niele and Pixie Wings... i'm so glad we are all planning early.. it will make the time we have at the parks fun!

UKstitch.... Yeahhhhhhhhh Good for you paying off your credit card with your christmas vacation stay on it.
I'm charging two nights each month then paying them off right away. See i also needed to get a room for my parents.. so i am glad we are planning ahead.

I wish I could do something like that - my finances took a huge hit to pay it all off, but I'd rather do it in one go than keep having to pay the interest charges.

Unfortunately as I have to add on £400 ($600) flights, the amount I had to pay off knocked out most of my month's wages.

What i will be booking in stages, however, are the "extras" such as my travel and passes to the other parks.

On a related notes - what would people here do between the two options below:?

I've got 6 whole days and 2 half days in SoCal. I definitely want to visit Universal, Magic Mountain and Knotts, as well as (of course) DLR.

What I can't decide is whether to also visit Sea World...

If I do visit Sea World, that would be 2 half days and 2 whole days in DLR, plus of course 1 day in each of the other 4 parks.

If I don't then that will of course be 2 half days and 3 whole days.

I love Sea World because, but I wouldn't give up a day at Disneyland for it! My personal experience is that I don't like Universal (haven't been to Magic Mountain at all and not Knotts in many years so can't comment on those). If it were me I'd give up a day at Universal and do Sea World instead.

That's an interesting idea - I hadn't thought of that one. Magic Mountain and Knotts are pretty much must do's for me as I love coasters so have wanted to visit these two (especially Magic Mountain) for a long time...

Universal, however, might be one I could think of passing on - I might have a look and a think about the two parks and see which I prefer.

ANybody else got any thoughts?

I've been planning this trip since we got back from Whistler in February. My DH gets his ski trips and I get my DL trip with the kids & grandkids! Can't wait. I think those on this thread are the luckiest for going during the holidays .... sooooo cool

Hello. We actually have plans to visit Walt Disney World in Nov-Dec 09. But, since we were there last year, I was thinking maybe we could visit CA this year. But, who knows... At this point, our plans are not firm and we could go either way. So, I'm looking at both locales at the moment and will make a decision in the coming months. We have some concerns...

I understand that Disneys California Adventure is undergoing a major facelift?? Has it been completed yet, or is it just beginning? Another question... How many days would you guys recommend that we put aside for both theme parks? 4? 6?? We will probably also want to take in some of LA's other attractions as well. We're open to all suggestions!!
