No clue. I think it's just too early to be making projections like that. I'm due to take a flight this weekend, then again for Memorial Day. I have no idea how to make decisions about this with so much up in the air.

It's a month away....

I would not worry. Freaking out won't help. Right now Disney won't do anything because there's no need.

I got off a plane last night. Get back on one Monday and the Saturday after that fly to Madrid.....

Life goes on.

i think with any influenza out break, I think caution not cancellation is the buzz word. Highly, highly doubt disney would close. I would bring tons of hand sanitizers with me plus lysol for the room. If you're flying perhaps make sure every one is super hyped up on vitamin c, once again wash wash wash after touching any thing.

Remember all the cases in the US have been extremely mild.

My biggest worry is that people over react to what is right now an infitessimal risk to them. I think someone mentioned Joe Biden's remarks on another thread, and that is a prime example of over reacting. Something like 60,000 people die every year in the US of flu and pneumonia. This flu has killed exactly one person in the US so far, and it was a toddler from Mexico. Even in Mexico, they've had ~ 150 people die so far. That's probably far fewer than have been killed by the drug violence down there in the same time. (Which is the reason I wouldn't go near Mexico City right now.)

Everyone needs to calm down and keep this in perspective. It's very sad for the families affected, but it is far less dangerous than even lightning right now in Florida.

Apparently the number being quoted by the news in Mexico is much higher than reality. I heard today it may only be 10 or under CONFIRMED due to the flu.

Statistically, at least 30,000 people die a year from the regular flu. If you're in good health, then you have little to worry about. This isn't the plague. For whatever reason, the news media has chosen to really hype this up, but like everything else on the news -it's all hype, no substance. It's a shame, too.

We leave in 27 days and I am not at all concerned. It is a flu virus and there is probably way worse things for me to worry about regarding illness. I would not fret and enjoy your vacation!

I leave in 12 days and am mildly concerned, more for the plane ride. But I'll have my sanitizer on hand and using it..that's all I can do, right?

I have no concern for this at all, beyond the normal dread that I have of coming down with influenza.

The mexican swine flu is no worse than the normal strains of flu that sweep through the US every year; it's just getting better press because it's a new strain that has no vaccine.

WDW will NOT close anything due to this illness.

Least we forget....In a normal time frame over the course of a year. 50 to 100 people die from the flu in America. Are we expecting 1,000's to die from the mexican flu?

I read to keep the air ventitlation going in the plane while waiting at the gate etc. to avoid breathing contaminated air.

I think confirmed is in the 20 something.

The other thing that Mexico has NOT been able to release is the "demographic" data. Did some of those that died have other conditions, were some of them aged etc.... Seems very "unforthcoming"

As for the plane.... I posted a thread on Transportation. Go look for one titled Germs on the Plane. REALLY the air on the plane is safer then the air in the AIRPORT (which is probably comparable to the air at your local store!)

JPN, It's not 50 to 100 that die in the US from the FLU. It's more like THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS! But since it's "just the flu" it doesn't make the "media"

According to the CDC, "Every year in the United States, on average 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu; more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu complications, and; about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes."
