Is there a liquor store at Orlando airport?
I didnt want to have to pack bottles of liquor in my suitcase (in case they broke). We are taking Disney transportation to the pier and I am pretty sure they wont make a "booze" stop for us, so I was hoping there might be somewhere at the airport to purchase alcohol. I am not a lush...honest, I just want a bottle of Kahlua

Sorry...... no liquor store at MCO. The closest one, that I know of, is about 3 miles north of the airport.

What about the Hyatt MCO? Does the Hyatt have a shop that would sell liquor? Thanks.

We've stayed at the Hyatt several times, and I don't recall seeing any kind of shop in the hotel. With all of the gift shops, etc. in the airport, it probably wouldn't make sense to have a shop in the hotel.

What about near the port? Any place to pick up wine near there?

Not within walking distance, that I've seen. There is an ABC liquor store a few miles south of the port, and the closest grocery store (which sells wine) is also a few miles away.

I think last summer my husband bought a bottle of kahlua and it was in a plastic bottle. If you can find it at home in plastic, that might be a good alternative. You won't have to worry about the bottle breaking. Or take a few nips just incase you do not get to a liquor store before you get to the ship. That should tide you over until you get to your first port.
My problem is that we like to purchase liquor in the ports to bring home. Now that you cannot carry it on the plan and are only allowed one suitcase under 50 lbs., what are we to do? I guess we are only going to be able to bring one bottle home per person. This only one bag per person rule stinks!!! |
