DVC Payment

Can I pay for my whole DVC membership on my credit card? Thought it would be a good way to get extra air miles towards the flights.

Basically YES, it will depend on your card limit but I had a word with our agent and she allowed me to pay half, clear the bill then put the other half on the next month. So if you need to spread it over a couple of month's explain and I am sure they will be more than willing to help you.

I think you've already got your answer, RDP, but I'm going to move this to the UK DVC forum. We effectively did the same as Dizneemad, albeit paying a deposit in the first instance, then the balance.

Welcome to the DIS, btw. Look forward to your input on all our UK forums if you're inclined to join in!

would advise using a card that gives the interbank rate without any transaction charges.Nationwide, post office and saga(if your over 50 )
that way you get a saving of 2.75% on outher cards
On an innital outlay for 160 points say at $100 a point would cost $16,000, if using one of the above cards cost £8,041.42 any outher card that charges the 2.75%, cost £8,262.55.saving £221.13.Rate today at $1.9897
We use a nationwide card for our dues and on hoilday to get savings, when rate good we pre pay our dues

If you don't mind a chime in from the other side of the water.....

Our 'guide' actually broke our payments out into 3. We put it on our cc and received a bill each month for 1/3 of the total.

That way we didn't have a rolling balance- and didn't pay any interest on the purchase. And got the miles too!

Good luck-

We paid ours with our Nationwide Credit Card and saved a fortune.

By using any credit card you will get close to the interbank rate - far closer than a money transfer. Most card issuers will charge you an exchange fee of 2.75% in addition. Despite this paying by credit card is still cheaper than a money transfer. Some card issuers (Nationwide, Post Office, possiblty Saga) waive this fee so you will save even more, but these issuers will not pay you Airline Miles etc. So...if you are looking to boost your airline miles balance you should simply use your credit card. If your limit is insufficient you can either pay in stages, or simply pay money into your credit card account so that it goes into credit and explain to your credit card issuer what you have done and why in order to prevent anti-fraud declines.
