my budget/healthy food tip of the day!!

this is so cheap, easy and cool I just had to share!

I got this tip from this months cooking light magazine.

For do-it yourself microwave popcorn

1 small brown paper lunch bag
1/2 cup popcorn
scotch tape

put the popcorn in the sack, fold the top of the bag down and seal with the tape

put in the microwave for 2minutes 30 seconds and you get great popcorn! Its much better than air popped and its dirt cheap!

Tossed the butter kept the gin
I had to save it for "special" occasions (like when no one I knew would see me)

Maybe today's microwaves are different, but when a friend tried this several years ago the bag burst into flames and ruined her microwave. I saw the blackened remains - not pretty and smelled awful.

Do not use bags made of recycled material.

For about $7, they have a plastic container that you can pop popcorn in the microwave in. I have been meaning to pick one up, I'm not sure my air popper is going to last through the 50 pound bag of popcorn I bought at Sam's club a few years ago!
