Yes, yes, and yes - but keep in mind, you are responsible for tipping anyone who handles your luggage. Allowing Magical Express to deliver your luggage, as the system was designed, includes the tip to Bell Services/Luggage Assistance (but nothing covers the tip to, say, the bus driver for stowing and unstowing luggage, car seats, etc).

I believe her implication is that she'd have some way of capturing the online boarding pass in an electronic file, and would aim to use the flash-stick to transfer that file from her computer to the front-desk computer, when their public access printers in the business center were down. As indicated before, that's a very good way of transferring a file infected with a virus as well, including a virus that could be used to capture guest credit card numbers, so that's why it is unlikely that the front-desk would agree, and surely the front-desk should NEVER agree, to help out in that way.

[QUOTE=kaytieeldr;19561231]Okay, I'm confused. How would providing a flash-stick to the hotel front desk allow them to print your boarding pass if, as stated, their printers are down?
there are computers/printers where customers can use them sometimes for free and sometimes with a small fee but the front desk always has a computer and a printer. Hope this helps.

Using Magical Express Transportation
I want to be sure I understood what I read. It does not matter which airline you use; Northwest, Delta, Southwest, Air Canada , Jetblue, Froniter, United or any other airline you choose to fly, you are allowed to the use the Magical Express Transportation as long as you are staying at a Disney World Resort?

Disney's Magical Express (DME) includes round-trip motorcoach transportation between Orlando International Airport and your Disney owned-and-operated resort, AND it also includes one-way automatic baggage delivery from airport to resort (you check your luggage with your airline at your home airport, and you don't see it again until it's inside your resort room). It's that simple. Everyone on every airline gets the above services if they want them. It's on the way home that there is a difference depending on airline, and that difference only has to do with luggage - everyone still gets the same bus ride back to the airport. There is a separate service called Resort Airline Check-in. THIS is where the specific airline matters, and it's the ONLY time that specific airline matters. RAC is ONLY for when you are LEAVING DISNEY. Think of RAC as curbside check-in, only it's in your resort lobby. Only certain airlines offer this curbside check-in at the resorts, and these are dubbed "participating airlines." But whether you use curbside check-in or not, you still get the bus ride if you want it. If you don't/can't use RAC, you bring the luggage to the bus yourself -- the driver loads it under the bus, yu get it back when you get off the bus at the airport, and then you bring it to your airline's ticket counter or curbside check-in just like every other airport experience you've ever had. Remember, regardless of airline, DME is a round-trip bus AND one-way baggage handling (airport to resort). |

Okay....to continue clearing up all the confusion (thanks Disney for contributing to the confusion!!).....
The proceedure of being able to check your luggage at your resort, and then print out your boarding pass is not part of DME! It is a completely different operation. Yes, I realize they have DME uniforms on, but they are truly agents of the airlines. This is why anyone, yes anyone, is able to use this service as long as they are flying home on a 'participating' airline. Those airlines have paid to be included (to simplify here). If you are on one of those airlines, you may check your bags through, get your boarding pass and then take a towncar or a rental car back to the airport. Or, you can board the DME bus if you have reserved it. Every single person arriving at MCO and heading to a WDW owned resort is entitled to luggage delivery and a ride to their resort on DME. When returning to the airport they are likewise entitled to a bus ride, with their luggage on the bus with them, back to MCO from their WDW owned resort. DME and the RAC system are not the same thing. |

I have a question about this RAC system. We will be using DME to get to the resort but my DH will be getting to the resort via rental car. I thought we all would leave disney via rental car but it probably won't hold all of our luggage and the 5 of us. Using the RAC system (we are flying Delta) would eliviate our space problem in the car going to the airport, but how assured can I be that our luggage will make it on time and get to the right flight? Are there any special tags I need for my luggage for this part of the journey?

They will tag the luggage for the airline you are flying. It is just like checking in at the airport except you are doing it at the resort.
Disney has done this a lot and you should be fine. They will provide the tags for you when you check in for your return flights. |

Roughly 4-to-6 weeks prior to your trip.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked but I don't really have time to read all 16 pages or whatever it is. How long does luggage take to get from the airport to your room (rough estimate!) and do they stop delivering at a certain time of night and just deliver the following day? I ask because we will be arriving at 7:20 pm and I would like to leave my luggage to ME to pick up, but don't want to be without luggage for the whole night. The whole stuff for 24 hours in a carry-on thing is not going to work for me because I have 3 kids who have very specific bedtime routines and the thought of keeping all their stuff in a carry-on is daunting, besides all the airline restrictions. Should I just pick my luggage up or will I get it before the end of the night? Thanks for the help.
