Hello, and welcome to my trip report.... This is my first time at it, so please, be kind... I have no idea what this trip report has in store for you, or me, but let's find out together! It should be a fun ride (and sweaty- notice the title- we went in JUNE!)

A little background--
As a child, my parents took my siblings and I to Disney twice. Insert family picture here

My sister's the red head, and my brothers the boy, obviously, I hope! I'm the "blonde" - although now, my hair is much darker.

We loved Disney as children and I always knew I wanted to go back.

Well, in college, I was lucky enough to be on LSU's dance team. With that, we competed at UDA nationals (dance competition) in Orlando- the best part of Orlando-- DISNEY! So, not only did I get a reason to go to Disney, but I got a FREE trip, made money while I was on it since we got per diem (sp?) each day as athletes, and got to go two years in a row!!!! Can't get better, right????

Yes it can.

Better as in, find the love of your life, get married, and share Disney together.

You see, Ryan, my husband, had only been to Disney once-- as a child. Before Animal Kindgdom, MGM, etc. And he was so small, all he can remember is riding on a boat drinking a red slushy drink! I figured he was riding Jungle Cruise, but that's just me

Anyway- we decided that we wanted to go on a Disney vacation so we could experience it together, and so he could experience it for the first time really, since there's much more to Disney than being on a boat (especially Jungle Cruise, right???) and drinking a red slushy! So we started planning our trip for June 2006. I planned and planned and planned (you all understand- you're DISers, right?). Well, all the planning paid off, b/c it was the most fabulous trip there ever was. We didn't wait in line longer than 30-minutes; the crowds were huge, but not unbearable. Our timing on everything was perfect. Planning paid off. It was hot, yes, but we live in South Louisiana--- we're used to the hot... It's REALLY HOT here! Still, it was the most amazing trip--- I think it had a little somthing to do with sharing the magic with the love of your life and see the joy in their eyes when they experience it for the first time. It was simply amazing.

We knew from the time we got home that we had to go again.

But, we were trying to save our money. We wanted a bigger house and all of the things that go in a bigger house. We didn't know if we really wanted to spend our money on another Disney trip.

But as June 2006 got further and further in the past, we missed Disney more and more. We knew that we absolutely had to go back. And it had to be for June 2007!!!! There really wasn't another time that worked for us... I work at LSU and can't really take off for extended periods when students are in classes. I also teach dancing and our dance recital wasn't until June 16th. So, it was best for us to wait until after that before we took our vacation. By then, we could truly relax and have fun.

So... December 2006, we start planning for our June 2007 trip!

Side note alert:
Who's that little dog, you ask... Well, that's Maddie-- otherwise known as our daughter. She's spoiled rotten, and I'm sure you see why. She's only the cutest thing in the world, wouldn't you agree?
End of side note.

So we start planning... Booked the hotel- Pop Century- booked the tickets- 6 day park hoppers + dining plan. Booked the flight finally- waited for the best deal as they are ever changing-- more about that stupid flight later. It was decided--- We'd be at Disney June 20-25!!!!! Let the countdown begin.

That excites me like no other. My uncle was a journalism professor there (but passed away this past April

) and I have lots of cousins there!

I am definately an LSU TIGER!!!!! GEAUX TIGERS! Oh, and let me tell you --- walking through the parks, each time I saw an LSU hat or shirt or whatever, I would shout at them- GEAUX TIGERS!!!! I think they thought I was strange, but I bleed purple and gold!

We had to redo those TOT pics again this year--- They came out so funny that I figured it'd be a tradition--- So, you'll see the ones from this year in a later post!

Still trying to decide if I even like the dark hair, but I'm living with it for now. It was supposed to be chocolate brown, and it came out black.... And I paid for that! But, I'm just "working it"-- right? Hehehehe!
