Need creative packaging idea...

Okay, all you crafty people, my brain is fried, and I need your help.

I'm putting together survival kits for the teacher's at DD's school as a gift from the PTF. The kits will contain things like a small candle (for when they're up late grading papers), marbles (to replace the ones they'll lose), and starburst (for a burst of energy), along with a check for classroom supplies.

Any creative suggestions on how to package this nicely...and relatively inexpensively? I can't come up with anything beyond colored paper bags and decorated envelopes for the checks.

Thanks in advance!

What about using a decorated paint can? That way the teacher could use it for pencils or keeping chocolates in on her desk.

good one!
(I tried making one for myself...a Disney one....LOVE it!)

great idea for teachers too... have you guys seen the new Target gift cards for beginning of the year teacher gifts? They are very cute and it never occurred to me to do something like the paint cans to hold them.
Thanks, Mickster...now I have a new project!
(when will I do my ??)

can you find colored bags in your school colors? Maybe bags of one of the colors and ribbon/bow of the other color?
(I know our Michael's sells those bags in different sizes and they are relatively inexpensive, esp with a coupon!)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've done this kit for DD's teacher each year, and now am expanding it to the entire teaching staff via our PTF. I'll stick with the colored bags and some additional embellishment on the check envelopes.

Many years ago, I was away from home for about 5 weeks. When I returned I asked dh how he had gotten along with house, laundry, dog, etc and he said great! Well, it was great--when I got home and checked the sock and underwear laundry hamper, it was stuffed to the gills with underwear/socks. Turns out he HAD gone out and bought new when he ran out rather than do laundry. The man didn't have to buy new ones for years!!!!

Hi, hope its not to late but, I remember seeing little metal lunch box looking things at the craft store. They were plain so you could use a paint pen and write on them. That would be so cute! I am sure the teacher will really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
