Best DF breakfast experience

Planning a trip with DBF who has a pretty severe dairy allergy. We currently have a breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace, but I am wondering if this is the best choice. Anyone have any amazing experiences with DF breakfast options anywhere? We are staying at BC, so maybe Cape May would be a good option?

Also, aside from 1900 Park Fair (and Chef TJ!), any notable places with awesome DF desserts?

Thanks guys!

My DS has more allergies than that, but the last few years his only really good variety at breakfast has been at Cape May or Tusker House.

His only cool dessert was at Crystal Palace and it was only brownies- but that was one of three trips where they were available.

I have more allergies than just dairy, but dairy is one of them.

I had a nice QS breakfast (modified bounty platter) in September at Roaring Forks at WL.

A note: according to the ingredient book, there is no dairy in the potatoes or scrambled eggs. However, I found out when actually ordering that butter is added to both when cooking to add moisture !! If I had just gone with the ingredient book (which was checked with the manager the night before) and not mentioned my allergies in the morning when actually ordering, I would have had allergy-containing food and an anaphylaxis adventure...

ALWAYS explain ALL food allergies WHEN ORDERING, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

(The morning supervisor at RF made me a safe order without the butter).

We are on the same quest for DF meals and, for the first time, breakfasts. I got much information from a DFGF at WDW blogger - not sure how to link and not sure it's allowed so google GFDFwdw but spell out the uppercase initials' words and you'll find it.
Based on the bloggers info and my own research, I can tell you what we are doing. DD and I are both DF per allergy and DH and DS are both cheese loving non-allergics. We are staying at BCV and want late breakfasts after a few hours in parks with am EMH. So per all the above, we plan to make ADRs at Captain's Grill and Kona Cafe plus one of either: Boma, The Wave or Grand Floridian Cafe. We are not on a dining plan, so usually feel that we get our money's worth better from menu ordering than a buffet. The primary reason that we decided to leave MK for Kona Cafe rather than go to CP, however, was because CP only has the frozen Van's waffles and we want DF mickey waffles or Tonga Toast. I thought I read somewhere that Kona could do DF Tonga Toast but I know I just read that they can make DF waffles and that this is confirmed by the DF allergy information emailed to be from specialdiets.
Hope this helps some. And from allergy wives and girlfriends of non-allergy husbands, sons, and boyfriends everywhere; thank you for your thoughtfulness toward your DBF.

Thank you! I was reading some of their reviews, actually. The problem I was having is that information seems variable depending on the date of the review. And we also have no problem with gluten, so I think that sometimes excludes things that would be safe (DF but not GF). Last time we visited together we were only there for a short time, but DBF fell in love with babycakes and has wanted to go back ever since. And now babycakes is closed so I feel bad and am just trying to find places where I know he will be able to have amazing food I think we might go with Tusker House or Kouzzina for breakfast (from what I understand, I think both have the allergy Mickey waffles). We ate at Kona last time and LOVED it.. and have a dinner scheduled for 'Ohana this trip as well.

Kouzzina and Tusker House do both have the allergy mickey waffles.

While babycakes is closed, if you walk down to the BC marketplace they stock some of their items there. You lucked out with that one, they're only at a select few places on property. The store front is closed but they are not gone completely.
