Highchair and infants?

I am cruising next month with my almost 7 month daughter. She is eating solids and loves sitting in her highchair. I read that the highchairs onboard are the wooden restaurant type. I think she will sit in one okay but with the use of a towel or pillow to help cushion her. I thought about bringing one of those cart/chair cover things but I'm sure she will get food all over it. Can I just use a towel from our room each day? Hopefully just needing one a day for all meals. And I also read that the kitchen could prepare puréed food for her. Does anyone have experience with that? I don't want to not pack food and then have a hungry baby.

Any other tips, tricks or secrets to cruising with an infant??

My daughter did fine in a cruise high chair, but it wasn't DCL. It didn't have a tray, but pushed right up to the table, so she didnt really wobble or need a towel or anything. I brought my own food and she ate off my plate, but it was a short cruise so we just managed.

I just came back from a cruise two days ago and my baby ten months was just fine no complaints or cushion needed. Her high chair at home an at daycare are both cushioned and I never thought about putting padding in the dream high chair. Baby will be fine.

Not sure which ship you are sailing on, but on Fantasy the highchairs were actually a plastic highchair that was similar in shape to the wooden ones at restaurants although it was smaller. The fact that it was smaller would be great for younger babies like yours, but it was not so good for my huge 23 month old. You can absolutely bring a towel from the room if you want to take up some of the extra space.

We've just been on the fantasy with our 9 month old. He's only small for his age and fitted perfectly in the highchair. We took advantage of the great variety of food and had DS eat as many new foods as possible so didn't get anything puréed but we were told they would purée anything we liked. Our servers were excellent and had cut up fruit or a plate of veg waiting for DS each night. They couldn't do enough for him. We also got a steriliser from GS for his bottles. I have to say after doing a week in the parks and a week on the cruise cruising is the perfect way to travel with a baby, its just so easy.

Thanks everyone.

We are on the fantasy. Trying to pack ( or at least think about it) and baby has a lot of stuff. It will be nice to cut back on somethings. (Like the high chair cover).

Again thanks.

Don't forget it's really easy to wash clothing on the ship so don't worry about not having enough clothing. I only took about 3 plastic bibs so I could just wipe them down each time and hand washed muslins so I only needed a few of them. One thing I will recommend is if your baby uses a dummy/pacifier take a clip for it. The days we didn't use the clip we lost a few as DS loved chucking them out the side of his stroller!
