Tell Me The Good And Bad About Caribbean Beach

I am unexpectedly staying at CBR next week and have never been there. What do you like or not like about it?

Pros: it's fun. I loved the theming and the beaches to lounge at. It was nice to have 2 dining options there including a sit down place.

Cons: the last time we were there, we were in the Trinidad building. It was one hell of a hike from food, pool, etc. 20 minute walk. It was nice and leisurely, but not so fun when you're exhausted. The buses do stop along each building (at least the last time I was there they did) and they had one that ran from the club house to the buildings, but it was a LONG wait...long enough that you could've walked there.

It's been quite a few years since I've stayed there though so I don't know if any of the cons have changed. I did love that resort and would stay there again, but that hike is a huge, exhausting deterrent.

That is exactly what has stopped me from staying there in the past.

It is a beautiful resort. The main pool is fun and the quiet pools good for relaxing and reading. I enjoyed the outdoor bar too. A nice option is having either food court or sit down dining.

I thought the building I stayed in was a long walk but relieved it was not as far as the others. I was across the bridge and down a few units. The busses did seem to take a long time to get around all the stops. This would not be my first choice but, if the price is good, I would stay here again.

When you check in just look at the map and ask for a closer room if they try to assign you far away.

That is wonderful! No cons for a trip to WDW next week
We always enjoyed our stays at CBR. We stay in the Jamaica buildings. Nice walk across the bridge. Never had any issues with bus transportation. The landscaping is lovely

Bad: It's the only moderate resort with full-size beds. To quote Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that."

CBR review

Last year, we stayed at the CBR. We enjoyed it for the most part but learned a few valuable lessons.

*Get a preferred room. We did not do this thinking we would save the extra money. Our room was far from everything: the pool, laundry, food court, and the closest bus stop was still far away. We are going back this year and definitely spending the extra for a preferred room.

*Something that I haven't seen mentioned is this resort has NO Elevators! We had a 2nd floor room and at the end of a long day we could barely make it up the steps.

*Food Court was decent. Many choices. Nothing to brag about. The kids enjoyed it because it had chicken.

*The beds seemed like they were a queen size bed instead of a double.

*We enjoyed staying there and learned some valuable tips. We are headed back to Disney this June. We considered staying here but decided we wanted to try somewhere we haven't been yet. So, we chose Port Orleans Riverside.

Pros: Gorgeous and peaceful resort

Cons: Lots of walking depending where your room is.

beautiful grounds. tropical feel- tropic subtle music piped in (even in the food court). Awesome zero entry pool- nice kids pool. Nice store- Nice food court. Didnt seem like we ever waited long for the buses.. We always got preferred- I would request Jamaica or Martinque #23 if not. Have a great time!!!

The pools at CBR look really fun, how do they compare to the other moderates?

CBR is one of my favorite resorts The resort is cheerful, colorful and and beautiful. We've had many vacations and stayed in Aruba, Jamaica, Martinique, and Trinidad North blds. Never a bad stay!

I remember very well when we first started going to Disney and stayed at CBR we'd be going hard all day then be too exhausted to walk across the bridge from Aruba to the food court for a drink or snack when coming back from parks at night!! Just too tired to walk another step! We pace ourselves a lot better now!! I do like to get a preferred location room if possible just to make it easier, but the walk is really not that bad and can be very pleasant.

Enjoy the food court and gift shop, love getting some food & a cocktail and eating outside in the courtyard; like to visit for those even if not staying at CBR.

Love all the seating areas around the buildings and rooms have always been themed very nice I like them, even with double beds We were at CBR one time on leap day and the bushes all around the resort were flowering so beautifully

Pools are visually appealing and have fun features, and there are lots of them! Enjoy the boat and bike rentals. The lake is a good place for kids to learn to drive a Sea Raycer, its not a huge body of water and generally not crowded.

I don't care for the Custom House setup, but the setup they have with a bus that comes along and takes you to your building is ok. I would never walk with my luggage from or to Custom house! I liked it a lot better when you were brought to your room in a golf cart years ago - I think that's rare now. I wish the internal bus was a cute Caribbean themed non-diesel vehicle!

Basically I think its all pretty good and have nothing bad to say!
