2 'Ohana Questions, i will accept answers to one or both :)

I really love 'Ohana's banana bread pudding, by far my favorite dessert in WDW and of all time! I really love the dinner there too but not able to get an early reservation before 8:30 or 9, and we have a party of 10 which makes it difficult. So here are my questions:

1.) What do you think would be the chances of getting a walk up seating with out an ADR if we got there before the Restaurant opens?

2.) if we decided to eat at Kona next door instead would they serve us the bread pudding from 'Ohana if we asked? It's not on the menu but I know Disney goes above and beyond. I actually had breakfast there several years ago and they brought us over some of the pineapple bread when we asked, at no charge even. I would gladly pay to have then bring over my favorite dessert of all time!

1) Slim to none
2) I've seen them bring things over before, but never the bread pudding. Doesn't hurt to ask. You could call in advance if that is the only reason you are going to Kona.

1) Next to impossible with a party of 10.

No idea about 2. Ive seen here and there on the boards about people who did it but I've never tried it myself.

3. Keep trying to get the Ohana ADR. It is a long shot for 10 people, but I've scored some difficult ADRs in the past through sheer persistence.

1.) What do you think would be the chances of getting a walk up seating with out an ADR if we got there before the Restaurant opens?
. . . no way
. . . one or two families might squeeze in
. . . but, a table for ten messes up all the other ressies afterward
. . . not to mention overloads servers who are on staggered-starts

2.) if we decided to eat at Kona next door instead would they serve us the bread pudding from 'Ohana if we asked?
. . . have heard rumors that it was done sporatically
. . . but not often enough to have a good feeling about it

We were there last month before the restaurant opened at 5:00pm and there was already a long line for stand by reservations 1/2 hour before opening. I don't think you should even consider trying it.

I notice a long line at 4:30 and was scared it was the check in line - it was for walk ups. We had a 5pm ADR and the first family in the walk up line got a table for a party of 3 next to us while we were begining our meats - I'm guessing 45 mins into the meal. I don't know I'd wait that long. I doubt a party over 4 would get a walk up table.

Just an fyi. We did this back in 2010... We were on a day where we did 1/2 day MK & the other checking out the monorail resorts. Upon heading over to CR we were able to score an adr on the spot for 5:30 at CM. Although at the time it was only 3:00. We headed over to poly to check that resort out, not even thinking about going to ohanas until we got there. It was around 4:00 by now but they said to come back in a 1/2 hr, thats when they start allowing walk up lines. Long story short, we got on the list roughly 15 minutes later and we canceled the CM adr. At 5:20 they called our PARTY of 7 to be seated.

Id say keep the faith and dont give up trying if you really want to eat there.

With your party size it might work. We did a walk up in November with 2 of us. We were offered a table with a party of 4 which we accepted. Nice family too! The CM told us they have plenty of larger tables and usually seat more the one family together if you are a walk up. We were seated 20 min later which was awesome.

As far as bread pudding, yes you CAN get it at Kona's. We do it every trip! Just ask your waiter. It is $5 for a huge bowl.

I went to ohana a couple weeks ago , we had a reservation for 7. I didn't include the baby , who was 20 months , because in my mind he needed a high chair. We had a reservation a 8:10. We showed up at 6:45 and told them that we had the baby . They said no problem and added him to the reservation . At 6:55 they sat our party of 8. My suggestion is to make the ressie for 8:00 and show up early . ( just a side note - I stopped by ohanas the day before my reservation to ask if they would accommodate our party with the extra person and they were very nice and said they would . I did this to make sure I could cancel my reservation if needed and not be charged )

I have gone to the Tambu a couple of times and ordered drinks, appetizers and Ohanas bread pudding for dessert. Yum. One of my best meals at Disney, now that I recall it.

Have you tried the Bread Pudding at Raglan Road? Not as good but not bad.

No, when I was at raglan I didn't order dessert. I wish I would have thought to try it. I typically don't like bread puddings but I love how they serve it at Ohana
