what others rave about and you just dont get it

I mainly lurk, and find out loads of info. I make notes things to try and do, and then in due course I try them. Some have dissapointed, big time but have been raved about. What have you really wanted to try because loads of people have raved about it?
mine,

1, citrus swirl, its ok but really just ok, I'd rather have a dole whip!!!!
2, Soarin, have only done it once will not do it again, possibly because I dont really like heights.
3, House of Blues Sunday Brunch, I found it somewhat odd, very over the top, having said that the buffet was fantastic.

I don't get the Dole Whip.

It's okay, but just soft serve ice cream. DH and I only took a couple bites and threw the rest away. Not sure what I was expecting, but wouldn't really have to be in the mood for ice cream.

And it was WAY too big. DH went up and got it so not sure if they come in sizes and he ordered a large, but it was enough for a family to share.

Soarin' we were just discussing the other day how disappointing it was and not worth the wait to ride again but we were happy to have given it a try so we would know what it was about.

Park Hoppers. It caused more stress than it relieved for our family.

I don't get the dole whip thing either. It is okay if you have FD and have lots of snack credits to burn. Another is Illuminations. I'd rather wait for Wishes or fantasmic. Wishes is way better and Fantasmic has seating.

DHS, overall, it is not a park we go to often We've been once in four trips and were underwhelmed by things to do there. We are trying it again this time if we can somehow snag TSM FPs.

Carousel of Progress. I realize it appeals to the sentiment of days gone by, but the last scene is just so horribly bad

Heres a controversial one, but I just don't get Wishes. Everything tells me I should like it but it does nothing for me. I could watch Illuminations all night long (and probably cry every time too), and I always sit with my jaw dropped at the end of Fantasmic. I think she Wishes song (the little girl singing) grates on me and the actual fireworks are a bit "meh".

Although even if we're not watching Wishes and doing rides instead I always try and make sure I see Tink fly so I guess I really like that bit!

Agreed! After several trips of skipping this park, we've decided to give it another try in October, mostly because we want to try TSM & Star Wars.

Boma - nearly had to sell my soul to get a ressie there and was extremely underwhelmed.

Dole Whips - I, too, don't get what the big deal is?!

I read a lot more than I post. I like that Disney has many options so that we are all happy, but there are a few things I don't get the hoopla about it. (and I have tried them all) I think it is almost cultish. LOL

Dolewhips
Duffy
The NEW Test Track
Zebra Domes
Schoolbread (very underwhelming)
The Lego Store
Le Cellier (I have had better steaks locally and in travling around the nation, especially in the South)

Canadian steaks are usually pretty good, but you actually have to come here to try them

Duffy

I am currently living in Japan and the Duffy thing is HUGE here. The girls will carry them all over the park with them facing outward to show off who has the biggest, best dressed Duffy. Even more cool if you have a guy with you and they carry it all over the park.

I have had park Hoppers the last few times I went.
The only times I ever used them was my Animal kingdom day. (because I don't hate it but there is only a half a day worth of interest for me)
and my DHS day (because Fantasmic does not interest me I would head elsewhere in the evening)

The idea of the flexibility is cool, but the price difference isn't work it for how little I used it.
This time I just got regular 5 day passes. Since I got 5 days for the price of 4 through undercover tourist I have promised myself that if we get done early with a park, we can just go back to the hotel and chiil, it is not waste of a day. (Besides, we could always explore Downtown, or some of the Resorts if we simply didn't want to call it quits)

CRT. I booked that sucker the second I was able to because of all the hype around it. I made it our last night's dinner, so it would be special. We had to wait 20-30 minutes past our reservation time, which we didn't care that much about. The food was awful though. Truffle oil was added to something, I can't remember but it was in an appetizer, and the waitress even commented about how the chef was adding it that evening despite most of her tables saying how gross it was. I had pork as my entree and it was barely room temperature. We went on a MNSSHP night, and the theme'd dessert they brought out looked awesome, but didn't taste awesome. The fact that it took 2 dining credits made it even more painful. We had 3 ADRs everyday for 8 days, and CRT was the second most disappointing.

I'm fighting now for a BoG reservation, but I'm concerned I'll run into the same issue. Since we're going without our picky-eater son, a whole new world of places to eat opened up so I want to make the best of it.
