Hello,
Went to Disney in November and loved it! Looking to visit Universal Studios in August for more of a relaxing vacation. Thinking of going to the parks for 2 days and staying by the pool/going to City Walk at night for 2 days. Looking for some assistance! Would Hard Rock Hotel be the right hotel for a couple in their mid 20s? Also, anywhere to find menus/prices on Hard Rock food/drinks? Is there a site to find more information on the Cabanas? Finally, any suggestions on when in August to visit? Thank you!!!

I can't help you with the Hard Rock as we always stay at Royal Pacific. However we go in August every year for 4 years now and the last week of August is much much quieter than the rest of the month. It's still steadily busy but no crazy waits
![]() ETA) I found good luck with menus and prices on the actual Universal website. You can see the restaurants on the site and click the menu link that opens a PDF file of the actual menu for most of the restaurants. |

We have gone last 2 weeks in August a couple of times, and yes the last week is quieter. Good time to go.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2681315 Have a look at this thread. It has the parks and hotels menus in there too. Any of the hotels will suit you to be honest, they are all lovely.

Just my opinion but Hard Rock is my least favorite. And I'm a rocker ( I play guitar in a rock band) So if its my least favorite, just sayin. I love the tropical theme at the RP so that is where I normally stay, but Portofino is uber plush and lux but its also the highest in $$, but if money is no object I would probably recommend the Portofino, with RP a close 2nd.

We are going around that time as well doing a week at US and then heading over to Disney for the last week of August. Having the unlimited express pass means even if its still somewhat busy this will help a lot. We went a few years ago and my kids asked that we spend more time as Universal this trip so we are doing 4 days! Guess we'll get to ride everything lots and have some good pool time and just relax some before we hit crazy Disney!
Last time we didn't stay at Universal but this time we are doing the HRH. Not sure it would have been my pick but my 15 year old so wanted to stay here even though she kept saying "but if we don't it's ok" and sad face. The 9 year old just asks "does it have a water slide?" and the 12 year old hasn't said much of anything except she'll maybe go on the double dragon this time but no way is she going on the hulk!" Because there are 5 of us we are getting a queen delux with a sofa bed. I have been looking a pictures of it on various sites and I have to say that it looks like a great hotel so I think we will be very happy here but I think it would even be better for a couple of 20 year olds. |
