anyone ever book sea squirts adventure through atlantis

I was on the atlantis website and I saw they offer a 'sea squirts adventure' for $29 for young children to feed marine life. Has anyone ever does this before? How do you get to atlantis from the port? Walk? Cab ride?

Thanks!

I doubt that cruisers/day guests would be allowed to reserve this activity....and if you happened to be able to make a reservation (Atlantis staff are not known for looking into the finer details of things), you might have trouble actually getting to it the day of the activity.

This used to be a free activity for Atlantis guests...sometime since my visit last year they changed it to be a paid one (but they're including a swim shirt in the activity fee). The place where you meet for this activity (Coral Towers library) is well within Atlantis hotel room areas, so it''s not an area the general public can access. So you'd be required to have a room key or pass, just to get to the activity.

Anyway, my daughter has done it twice. Kids get in the water with an staff member and feed the small/juvenile stingrays. The staffer picks up a the star fish and/or conch, and lets them touch it. It's a nice, but brief, little activity.

Now if you were to book a room at the Comfort Suits for your day-pass access, you could probably book this activity.

Cabs are plentiful in Nassau, and they line up at the port to take cruisers around. Its a predetermined zone system for fares, and I believe there's a set $5 per person fee from the port to Atlantis, in shared vans that fill up with people, then go.

On the Atlantis website, it was listed as a day experience. I assumed that meant it was for someone just coming to Atlantis for the day and not staying there. Buy maybe it just meant a "daytime" experience

Being part of the 'day experience' booking system is new (I think). A few weeks ago, I was researching how to make a reservations for Sea Squirts for my upcoming trip. At that time, you had to call a guest services number to make a reservation.

Now that its on that system, it could be that they'll allow anybody to book it regardless of where they are staying. But it could also be just an error in having it there available for anyone to book. Atlantis can be like that.

When are you going? My trip is around Easter and I plan to have my daughter do this. I could ask around while I'm there.

As you can see from the picture, it wasn't a highly utilized activity, so it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to open it up to the public. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they forgot a bunch of logistical issues that make participation impractical for non-resort guests.

Sorry, I don't know the specific answer. What I can tell you is that this activity happens in an area that is only for hotel guests and people who have purchased passes. And to do this activity, you will go past a security check point where they will be checking for passes or room keys.

There could be a policy that allows you to accompany your child to this activity without purchasing a pass (since you are being escorted by a staff member), but I'd worry the workers that day might not know that they were supposed to allow you (a non-guest parent of a child participating in this activity) onto the grounds, if such a policy exists.

Its worth a call...the activity is booked through Atlantis' Dolphin Cay, but the actual activity happens over by Atlantis' Coral Towers.

They added shark feeding to the activity program in 2013:
