Using Disney Gift Cards towards On Board Account
I'm assuming that this can be done. Question is... Does Disney limit the number of Cards that you can apply to your account? i.e. If I hand them forty $50 Gift cards for a total of $2000 will they balk?

I gave them 10 $50 gift cards, and the CM happily began applying them. It is not quick, but they only have to swipe the cards and make a few key strokes, so it is not a difficult transaction.

Do not do them ahead of time-pay down as you go.Can't imagine needing $2000 OBC unless you are buying art tho.

![]() OP, I do agree about paying as you go though, especially if you aren't sure if you'll use all of the credit. I had $1500 in gift cards and I applied them $500 at a time. |

They will do it, but I agree with PP, don't apply them all at one time. With that many, it is too easy for the person entering them to get confused, and screw it up somehow. 10 is about the max I would try at a time.

We did this on our last cruise. I bought a gift card everytime I got paid and had about 20 cards to hand them. Other than laughing when I apologized as I handed over the cards, the CM just smiled. There was another lady up there doing gift cards also and the 2 CMs made it a race to see who could get a card in first--apparently there is a connectivity issue when you try to upload more than one card at a time. It was quite hilarious. But it did take about 20 minutes to do it. So prepare for that. I had figured all our expenses ahead of time and knew what we were going to spend (Palo, excursions, tips, etc) so I had that much in gift cards and just applied it on the first night. We did have some cash we took with us and I did go down the last night and apply the cash that we hadn't spent to settle the account for what we bought in the shops. Easy Peasy--and no bill when we got home! That was the best part!!

Just remember...whatever cards you apply, make sure you get them back! If you don't spend it all, the credit will go back to that card!

So these are just a Disney gift cards? Do I look for something special when I go to purchase them. I'm going to check our CVS. Where else are they available?

Target sells them at a discount if you have the red card, as well as Sams club etc.

You don't know my wife!! But Seriously, the excursions on the Alaska cruise are crazy expensive. I'm thinking $1300 then $350 for tips and about $200 for my wifes spa appointment. It really adds up!Yep, but I buy them at Target with my red card and get 5% off.
