Anyone concerned about radiation from Japan disaster?

Not much media coverage that I've seen, but they won't keep it quiet much longer.

There is a need for concern however, there is nothing we can do at this point. The west coast is/was especially vulnerable but a large part of the US did get some radiation blow over. There are maps that show this.

I am probably more at risk from the radioactive material in the smoke detector in my house, or the glow in the dark face on my alarm clock.

Unfortunatley I don't think so. Of course the media isn't going to raise panic but it really is a valid concern.

Really? It seems that the media raising a panic is what they live to do.

Well, as someone in the media, I can tell you we get bombarded with studies that conflict with each other. I can't tell you how many "could lead to a cure for cancer" studies I have seen in 38 years.

I did a story on smoke detectors......focusing on how you should replace them every 10 years.....and some of mine were 30 years old.....and I replace them and noticed the radiation warning on them, and that they are hazardous material and should be disposed of properly, not just thrown in the trash.

I'm more worried about the pollution generated in the refineries in New Jersey, and the tragic consequences.

Not even a little concerned. Sorry but my life is stressful enough. Not going to add this to it. I couldn't get the page to open so didn't read the story.

Nope but I am allergic to fish, so not eating that. Also I already had thyroid cancer. That would theoretically be the first effected organ and I don't have one. Also I live in the Midwest, I'll let the Californians with the good weather act as my radiation buffer.

To all my friends in California I ask you to coordinate a date breath deep and blow the radiation back

Perhaps we need one of these to protect us from the radiation-
