My Magic+, FP+ and My Disney Experience info - The DIS Discussion Forums

After looking around over on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategy Boards, I found some more details about the upcoming My Magic+ and FastPass+ that will be rolling out soon.

From Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. It's on page 2 as of right now. If you can't find it later, you may have to check page 3.

Not sure how I feel about all of this yet. I guess my only real beef would be if they completely did away with the original paper FP.

Okay, just found confirmation that if you decide to use the My Magic+, My Disney Experience and FP+ you will no longer be able to use the old paper FP.

•You are required to convert paper tickets and passes in order to make and use FastPass+ selections. Once you convert a ticket or pass you will no longer be able to participate in the standard FASTPASS service upon arrival at the parks.

This part will definitely affect people who like to park hop.

•You may make FastPass+ selections for one park per day. You may only select and redeem a FastPass+ selection for a particular attraction, entertainment or restaurant experience once per day.

We will be there from 1/31 - 2/9....will this be in effect yet? Do you have any timeline info at all?? TIA.

I'm wondering the same. Someone at some point mentioned the rumor of a February roll out.

Waiting a bit to pass judgement.

I kind of hope not.... I don't really feel like being a test-subject right now. Haha. I would much rather it roll out when I've been and gone and can read it about it later!

No official announcement yet. But, they will first need to get the rest of the resorts outfitted with the RFID door locks. I do not know when they will finish that.
