Resort alcohol policies

We have a TPV room at POLY for our upcoming stay, and I'd love to enjoy a cocktail in my room while watching Wishes from our balcony (or patio). Can you take drinks from the bar back to your room? I live in a state with fairly strict liquor laws, so I never know what to expect in other places.

You can get 'to go' cups everyplace in Disney except MK! All the other parks and your resort will let you walk around with drinks.

But you just cannot enter the parks with an alcoholic drink, or leave a park with one.

You can walk around the resort with them.

I bring my own pop up ice bucket and bottles of wine and we enjoy sitting around the pool at night drinking GOOD wine (not the crap Disney sells for 9.00 a glass )

Thanks everyone! I'm actually bringing my own wine for the exact reason listed above, but I know I'll want a tropical beverage to get in the Polynesian mood too. Glad to know I can relax with it while staring at the castle.

I actually left HS with an alcoholic drink! I was kinda worried but no one stopped me or even blinked. It was dad's electric lemonade from the bar next to 50s Prime Time Cafe.

Just to reiterate about not bringing in or taking alcoholic beverages in the theme parks. Don't bank on it, it's a rule you may sneak by but you probably won't.

As long as everything is in plastic

you have no worries about poolside partying!

We have brought close to a full bar to the pool when we have had a group of us liking various beverages. Last trip I was making Seven Seas cocktails and long Island Iced teas. We had quite a few other guests ask if they could join us. The only requirement is to bring your own cup. We take our Disney mugs!

yup

just tell the BT that you need it to go. No worries (in the resort- I still have a laugh remembering my wife trying to finish a grand marnier slush while we all waited for her to leave EPCOT- funniest brain freeze ever)

They must not have realized or noticed what you had as it is definitely not allowed.

during out trip in 2009 me and my dh had trouble sleeping mostly due to being hyper from all there is to do at Disney world. so in 2010, we decided to go to the pool bar each night and get a mixed drink "to go" and we took them to our room and slept like babies. Drinks were in plastic cups. we did not bring any alcohol from home as we don't normally drink before bedtime.

This may have already been mentioned, but quite a few (if not all) of the gift shops at WDW resorts do sell small bottles of liquor, so you could even make your own if you'd like. I do know that the Poly sells it in the upstairs shop of the Grand Ceremonial House.

I stayed at BLT on the top floor on my last trip. Was great since it was just me and two kids. I'd run down the hall to the lounge and get a drink (in regular glass) and take it back to the room. Bartenders had no problem with me taking it with me. They also opened a bottle of wine that I brought from home...difficult cork.

My wife and I

like an adult beverage during the afternoon break and in the evening by the pool or on our deck.

If we take an airline what gives us free checked bags we take everything with us. If not we us WeGoShop to buy our supplies and deliver thm to the room.

We can do things as simple as vodka and cranberry and bourbon and coke to seven seas cocktails and depth charges. It all depends on our mood on any particular trip. We are careful to only buy liqour in plastic bottles and mixers in plastic bottles :0 to avoind CM's freaking out.

We have had a lot of other guests give us positive feedback on our advance planing skills and we are known to share
