Teen Beach on CC
Is there still a teens only beach on Castaway Cay? I didn't think about it when I was there last time, but I will have two girls old enough for the Edge on my next cruise. I looked on my map and didn't see it.

there is a 'teen hide out' and another area for the Edge tweens to play games, but there is not a separate beach for them.
My kids just did the teen excursion, with snorkeling, kayaking, and biking, and they liked being with their friends. I spent the morning on the adult beach and then joined one for snorkeling in the afternoon. Nancy |

My daughter did the teen excursion. She was able to book it when we got on the ship. She had a great time. Highly recommend it.

The teen beach became an extension to the family beach and the cabana beach by pelican plunge.

My DD has been in Vibe since she was 14 ( 5 separate cruises) she will be 16 on our next cruise in January. She has never seen any child below 14yrs old. At 13y and 11 month old she was still in Edge. I'm not sure how a 13yr would handle being with older kids and Disney may allow a 14y to step down to the Edge, but not a 13y up to the Vibe. Let your DD relax with kids of a similar age.

I think maybe the teen excursion is for Vibe kids only. That would make sense. Total speculation on my part, tho. My youngest was less than 2 months shy of 14 on our first cruise on the Dream and chose to move up to Vibe vs. go to Edge. He didn't do the excursion on that cruise, tho. He did the teen excursion last May when he was 15 and loved it.
The teen space on CC is now 'The Hideout' or something like that. Its not on the beach but it's sandy and all. I think I'm remembering seeing a sand volleyball court, a deck, and seating under some palms. Location is sorta behind where the tram stop is for Pelican Pointe and the bike rental shack if I remember correctly.

The teen excursion is for kids 13 - 17. I booked both of my boys on this excursion this summer when they were 13 and 16. Although my younger son was in the Edge, he was allowed on the excursion because he was 13. I didn't make any attempt to get him access to the Vibe. He had fun on the excursion, BUT I'm not sure there were any other 13 year olds there that day.

They have CM(s) there but it depends on the level of what you consider supervised. They will be allowed to come and go as they please just like at the clubs. So they could take off and walk along the bike path or go anywhere on the island that guests ARE permitted and no CMs will say anything to them as long as they aren't doing anything inappropriate such as destroying property/wildlife. So Honestly, if you don't want them unsupervised on CC and you don't trust them 100% to stay where you tell them, then I say don't leave them on CC. Keep them with you. Sorry but that's the reality of it. Posted from Disney Forums Reader for Android |
