Lots of water! I always have a water bottle in my hand. Also, don't be afraid to take breaks. When you feel like you are getting too warm move to someplace that is air conditioned. Don't forget a GOOD sunscreen!

We've done July/August the last 2 summers. We stayed hydrated--ice water is free from vendors in the park--and went back to the room during the height of the heat in the afternoon. We would come back out in the evening for dinner and EMH.
Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Or at least not as bad as I had anticipated.

![]() I'm glad we went in July so at least we know that we would do it again in the future if we have no other options.

We've been in both June and July and we didn't think it was bad either time. We did a lot of swimming and went to the water parks. The summer months aren't bad, IMO, if you take your time touring the parks and work in some down time

If you go in July or August, go to the parks in the morning and waterparks in the afternoon

I would think with the heat, this would be a bad time for very young ones, like under 5. Do you all agree?

You wear very lightwight clothing.
You apply sunscreen generously. I love the sprays! You start out early at least a few days. I do NOT do commando anymore! Drinks lots of water. Go see all the shows. Air-conditioning, enough said! Fast Pass is absolutely essential. Back to the resort in the afternoon for swimming. It NEVER feels HOT when you're WET! Some nights, back to the parks!! Walk thru the shops instead of the streets- Air-conditioned, enough said! RELAX!!!

I agree with everything everyone else has said, stay hydrated, make sit down meal reservations for lunch at the hottest time of the day, go back to the hotel to rest/swim during the afternoon.
But for us, aside from all that...get to the parks when they open. You'll get to do all the "big stuff" early and not have to wait in the lines to do that stuff later, and if you get there early, you won't feel as bad about leaving at midday for some rest.

I agree with pp. Disney in the summer is doable, but only with the right approach. Our youngest two kids were 2 and 4 on our last trip and they did fine. We saw quite a few families there with small infants in tow. What's nice about WDW is that you aren't out in the heat standing under the blazing sun all day. You are in and out of air conditioning quite a bit. My advice would be to stay hydrated (cannot emphasize that enough), misting fans are nice to have, take advantage of the many indoor attractions for those much needed a/c breaks, do most of your park touring early in the morning and/or in the evenings if you can (it's nice that it stays light out longer and the park hours are longer in the summer), and afternoon breaks are nice to get a break from the heat or hit the pool. Lastly, be prepared for those daily (but brief) afternoon downpours. Many people go to WDW in the summer and have magical trips. It's all a matter of perspective and preparation

water, lots and lots of it-makes for many bathroom stops-just as well there are plenty!
sunscreen, keep it topped up. rest and take cover if necessary during the hottest midway, early afternoon hours. make use of ac in restaurants, shops and rides. a good, strong antiperspirant
